I agree. The only person I would give possible consideration to is Williams because he's shown flexability in the weight classes. Still, I don't think even Williams has fought the same level of competition Cotto has.

Also: I know I am probably alone in this statement, but beating the #5 should not mean you are not as good as the #5. Even if Cotto v. Mosley "could have gone either way" shouldn't that mean they are just about equally as skilled?

I asked this once and someone said they don't include heavyweights on the list as it's assumed the heavyweight champ could knockout the champs of every lower weight class. It's supposedly designed to show who the best boxer is regardless of weight.

In which case I still agree that Wlad should be on the list somewhere. Even at another weight class he has the height, strength, intelligence and skill to win.

Oh, and #10 is a japanese prospect who looks retty good but is still a prospect and has no real right to be on a P4P list one above Cotto.

Vasquez is out because he's inactive and has no fight signed (as noted in the previously updated list). Marquez dropped out because Hasegawa deserved the ten spot more based on results than rep. Mayweather is back in because he's fighting in little more than a month and wasn't gone long enough to assume he's slipped THAT much.

Just my take...and Ring has nothing to do with it per an earlier poster. Ring don't pay me 1 cent.

              Agreed!

Wlad is a dominating champion + one of only six RING champions in the word! He has an excellent jab, which many already reffer to as an ATG jab! TIme for him soon to enter p4p rankings IMO!

Ivan Calderon? Paul Williams? I mean, they are great fighters, but Cotto has beaten the #5, and is about to face the #1. It's not like Cotto has bummed his way to the top, he's fought a ton of great opponents and his only loss is questionable. Give him some love.
True! Few fighters right now have a better resume than Cotto!

Quintana, Malignaggi, Torres, Mosley, Clottey, Judah, Margarito (even in defeat i think it goes as a part of resume!)!!! Few have fought so many good fighters!

And Cotto doesn`t seem to stop willing to

Dawson should not be on there, whose he beaten even close to the top 10 p4p? And impressively?

Tarvers ordinary and past it. If he beats Johnson very clearly then thats impressive so maybe.

Pavlik nearly on there, is ridiculous. Hows that, the only remaining good MW's have left, and he's out on the lurch for the next year and a bit whilst the top SMW's face each other. Not particularly well thought through.

Should Mayweather be there, not sure. I guess he's un retired officially, but then it still seems a bit soon to stick him on there merely for that fact, he has a fight lined up in the future.

Decent? What are you smoking? Floyd is in it and Cotto is too low, how is that decent? They take two great fighters out for inactivity due to medical problems(Vazquez) or just recovery time(Marquez) but put one in with more time out and because of a voluntary, well placed and pretty convenient retirement. The list sucks! All they did is place Mayweather so high that when he beats Marquez(hope not) he'll be #2 and if Cotto beats Paquiao that'll make him #1 once more. What a bunch of nuthuggers are The Ring people.
