Smart move at end because if this fights ends up being a classic, there might be a cotto vs pacman 2 & 3. Also, it helps keep floyd out of 2 big fights in cotto and pacman. Sorry floyd, i guess it's mosley or clottey.....ohhh i forgot, no way you would fight them.....lol

This is the best move for Cotto.

This guarantees him two big fights...Pac now and Margarito 2 later.

Win or lose the Pac fight a 2nd tilt with Marg is a money maker because of all the controversy surrounding it.

Seeing as how all three fighters are Top Rank guys it also means the promoter and the fighters involved will maximize their potentail to make money out of these fights. There isn't a second promoter they have to share a piece of the pie with.

And why would Cotto want to go to GBP anyway? What good has it done Mosley? He's been on the shelf for what seems like years and they can't land him a big fight. And I don't want to hear Mayweathers name either...he ISN'T a GBP fighter. If he was GBP would have been able to make Mosley-Mayweather by now.

Mosley will be stuck fighting the Collazo's, Mayorga's and Berto's of the world. Fights that don't make him any money.

Out of Top Rank and Golden Boy......... Miguel Cotto chose the lesser
of two evils. Arum is old school so he still knows how to put on big
fights with big names. I think Oscar has a long way to go before he
picks up Arums savvy because it comes with experience. Oscars
so worried about making a next star instead of picking the right
one and letting him come up. With Ortiz Oscar made the wrong call
and put too much pressure on him too early. Arum has the best
roster of fighters with better earning potential. Shane Mosley doesn't
help Oscar and Golden Boy's cause either with his BS.

Like him or hate him, Bob Arum won. He got everything he wanted. The fall megafight stays in-house and he's got Cotto for 2½ years; enough time for the inevitable rematch with Margo & potential rematches with Pacman.

Mr. Boat Buyer will have to get through Marquez and then Clottey, Mosley or P Will before he gets a taste of some elite Top Rank leather.

it does'nt matter haters. floyd can beat both paq and cotto. so let them fight each other. what this does is set up a future fight with margacheato because i don't see pac beating cotto. no way. the power and body shot will be something that manny has never felt before. floyd will whip them both.

#1 it secures his biggest payday of his career (pacquiao)
#2 it secures other big fights/rematches with Pacquiao and Margarito.
#3 Keeps his PR parade weekend fights in MSG going. ($$)

imma big cotto and pac fan and as much as i would want cotto to win, i dont see him taking to many of pacs straight left, the key for cotto to win is to try and get pac in the corner and unleash body shots, pac has been knocked out twice in his career by body shots. if it goes into the later rounds, pac is gonna win. cotto will slow down and get very tired with pacs speed.

Arum done pulled his wang out again!!! The Bobfather handles his business, too bad Cotto doesn't. After Pacman, what other big $$$ fight can Arum guarnatee. Margarito wasn't big $$$ then and he ain't gon be big $$$ after this brick scandal. He should have negotiated that out and at the minimum took just a yr with a buy out clause.
