First off, I agree MMA is not on the level of boxing at the moment as far as the revenue generated. But it is gaining ground.

I don't agree on his bashing MMA. The athletes in both sports train very hard to compete at the top level.

Fighting is an ancient form of self defense that evolved from brutal fights to the death to sporting events which must incorporate rules and regulations to prevent deaths.

I think he's refering to the U.S. when he states White people guys. How many White-Americans excell at Boxing? Pavlik that is it. MMA/UFC , I think is bigger in the U.S. than in any other part of the world. So here it is mostly young white americans that are there fan base. Boxing here in the states is a ethnic older crowd.

The big problem is it takes a SPECIAL athlete to excell at multiple discplines. Like a Bo Jackson or Deion Sanders. Even if you a great athlete that doesn't mean you could just do another sport and excell. Micahel Jordan ****** at Golf and Baseball. That is why say Lesnar was a great collegiate Wrestler but he got cut from football. The guys stand-up is terrible. He is NOT a guy who is world-class at anything outside of wrestling. That is why MMA in my mind is a JOKE. You got 1 that was/is a great Wreslter or BJJ tryin to box or kickbox and it's ugly. Tom Brady is a great QB but could he play LB or WR? NO.

Agreed, PBF just didn't explain it the best. It just human nature for you to root for a fighter of your ethnic background. How is a white kid from suburbia gonna identify with Pacquiao,Cotto,PBF,Hopkins,Mosley,JMM,ETC. He is gonna identify more with Lesnar or Liddell. Same when Boxing was in it's golden age in the 50's many Italian-immigrants rooted for Marciano,Lamotta and Graziano.
