The bad thing is his offense happened in Texas. Im from Houston and ive have a couple of run in with the law. Texas law isnt like anyother state, especially for people like him that violate probation. Id like to see him get one of those sweet deals like celebs such as T.I. got, but the fact that he didnt even bail out shows me hes proably gonna do a stretch. I hate to say it but he may end up doin 10+ and saying he was already on probation for Aggravated Robbery which is punishable by 5-99 in Texas. Add that to the fact his violation was also weapons related and he had a previous incident also involving a weapon hell proably get his probation revoked and resentenced on his inital charges and have the sentence run concurrent. This really maybe the end of his career which would be a god awful shame.

This is a shame because Kirkland in my view was the real deal when you look at the other line up of fighters. He was one of the few guys that was calling out Paul Williams for a fight. And Williams lost a little bit of respect from me for blowing off the challenge and saying Kirkland wasn't deserving enough. It was a little bit understable though. I admit Kirkland was probably no angel outside of the ring, but he had the right attitude when it came to fighting who was put in front of him, and he seemed like the kind of guy that wouldn't use politics to duck fighters like Berto and Juan Ma are doing.Last edited by Iceta; 07-18-2009, 05:22 PM.

Well Mr Kirkland, you want to be a gangster, here you go. You will now be sentenced and treated like a gangster, enjoy.
He knew the consequences, knew the legal system, just decided to keep buying guns and to keep living that lifestyle. It's hard to have sympathy on somebody who simply doesn't want to be a decent member of society.
If a convicted armed robber is walking around with firearms it's good he was caught before he ended up shooting somebody.

Sky was the lmit for this kid, to bad this happened. Probably has killed his boxing career IMO. I really wanted to see him fight the likes of Paul Williams, Daniel Santos maybe even Kelly Pavlik. Looks like all that is down the drain.
