nice post... the third point could very well be the best reason IMO for marquez to back out, but i don't think he really chickened out because he was scared. he trained intensively as early as november, and trained hard as the press have written. it's all about money IMO. put your self in his position, do you want to be beat by powerful punches and only get some spare change??? i don't think so... but what the heck, bottomline is, he backed out... end of story...
i agree, a boxer who backed out a fight has alot of things to do to redeem himself
after this what will marquez do? it has been proven that manny will take on whoever stands in his way, marquez is different, i don't know why
I think the Morales/Pac fight will prove or disprove if Barrera was indeed himself that night. If Pac wins big then it could be that Pac is just to good. Anything other than a big win by Pac should warrant Barrera getting his rematch. But I think Marquez should be the first one to tango. I'm sure a MAB/PAC 2 will take precedence over a JMM/PAC 2 because it will make more dinero.

good point... with the hype given by fans to the JMM-MP rematch, i think hbo will come to realize that everybody wants the fight, then hbo will see huge dollars once again... i juts hope they offer the champion a justifiable purse...
Roach said in a recent interview that Manny's hand did suffer a fracture early on in the fight which is why he couldnt' throw it with bad intentions any longer. They didn't leak that out to the media though. Hmmm.

I dont think that it will prove the Barrera fight a fluke or anything like that even if Morales wins big. Barrera simply couldnt see the opening and his heart gave out mid fight he didnt wanna go anymore. Barrera was effective everytime he used his right hand but he came under fire and he couldnt see it. He panicked did what came more naturally and that was using his left. Pacquiao took advantage of the exposure of Barreras left cheek and that was it.
Basically Barrera's style played perfectly into Manny's thats all.
Wow this is a great thread. I was worried there would be a lot of back and forth ******ity and there were only a few. There were a lot of great points. I'm going to take a look at rounds One and three since those were the two rounds mentioned. I agree that Pacquiao had to have something wrong with his hand. Several people have said that they saw it after the fight whether here or in the Phillipines. I know it is not an excuse, just a factor to keep in mind for the upcoming fight(s). That being said I can't wait for Pac Man - Morales. No matter who wins it will be a great fight. And the best part is, no matter who wins there are enough matchups between the three Mexicans and Pacqauio to make a round robin. Who wouldn't want to see Pac - JMM 2, Barrera - Morales 4, Barrera - Pac 2, JMM - (Barrera and/or Morales)? Those would all be amazing.
And if you want to get this fight PM me. It'll be up in the morning. First 25 gets it from yousendit.com. It's one 396 MB file just so you know.
Barrera is one of my fav fighters, Pacquiao beat him fair and square, i would love to see a rematch, but Pacquaio will Destroy MORALES, worse then barrera did.
