i was @ the barber shop.. and as soon la comay said.. that miguel cotto was sued.. i say... evangelista.....
hopefully they will work this on the side... but damn... la comay... show the report.. and it says that evangelista was earning about 33 % of cottos purse.. something like that...
first of all he waits for 5 years to bring the extra 23%. if he were still training miguel nothing would've been said. second. miguel did'nt throw the first punch so he defended himself.third miguel can counter sue so this will stretch out for awhile. but miguel can work through any distraction.
I wonder how much Cotto actually gets to take home at the end of the day (in terms of percentages). With trainer fees, promotional fees, etc., these things add up so that fighters receive pennies for every dollar they earn. Ridiculous.

According to a friend that was at the gym the day this happened, not only he threw the first punch at Miguel but it was him who also started to raise his voice and curse at both Miguel and his Father when he was being informed that they were going to transfer their training to Florida for Clottey's fight. it was not until Evangelista's physical contact against Cotto, that Cotto reacted in defense.
After that Cotto stayed for a moment at the Gym trying to calm things down and they even shook their hands. That's when Cotto left the Gym thinking that his uncle was calmed, just to find out that his uncle had followed him on his way back to the apartment and threw a construction cement block, not a tiny brick, a block, at his driving side windshield of Cotto's brand new Jacguar.
Police got to the scene and reported these actions but left the decision to the justice dept. wethere or not they would go against whoever had quilt in this matter because after the Police officers initial investigation, they were willing to take Evangelista to the police station and present charges but Cotto did not want to accuse his uncle.
After the police report was presented to the justice dept. they decided to hear both sides, so both Cotto and his Uncle had to go to court to try to convince the DA that no charges should be presented and that none of the parties were interested in follow thru an both, Cotto and his uncle, convinced the DA dept. not to create any case.
This is a sad family story that we knew would might happen, but with all the evidence and the background of Evangelista (remember he had issues during a fight, with Cotto's brother) I really doubt that he will have success in this sue against Cotto. The most he could probably get from this is have Cotto pay him, what ever he owes him, if he owes him. On the other hand if Cotto has evidence that he doesn't owe him he can counter this sue and it could get worst for Evangelista.
