i don't even think calzaghe's style would be the way it is if he was american...he'd get jammed up from the inside in his early days...i think after the years...he'd have to adjust and stop swinging so wildly...he wouldn't even be the same boxer...i don't know how that would translate to his current status tho...

It's hard to say. If Joe was an American he probably would have fought Jones, Hopkins, Toney Johnson, Tarver etc.. all in their primes. If he had beaten all of them he'd be up their.

This **** is all up to interpretation anyway.

If an American fighter had the same resume as Calzaghe, they would not be top 10 ATG. It's the fighters he fought that keeps him from that discussion.

No you didn't just AGREE than Sloppy Joe has a better resume than Hopkins and RJJ.

no would he heck but i think hed have better names on his resume and i think hed be ranked ahead of hopkins, tito, dlh, winky and morales.

i think hed be a top 30 ATG without doubt.

No Calzaghe does not have the resume to be top 50 let alone top 10.

                    This Clown isn't a top 100.

If he was American, he would have been beaten a long time ago. Simple as that. He fought D Level Journey men his whole WBO title run. Then took on inexpeirenced overrated Boxers Kessler and Lacy. Then he fought a 40 year old Jones and 43 year old Hopkins. Even if Hopkins beat Pavlik, the fact remains that Hopkins was 43 when they fought and is on the downslide of his career, even if he is top 5 p4p.

to be a ATG, you have to fight a fighter in there prime. And Calzaghe best wins are against past prime fighters.

Come on homie...I didnt say that he had a better resume better than Jones or Hopkins but I gotta be real and give the dude his props...He could have done a lot better IMO but he did run a division and remain on top for 10 years...despite his subpar resume...Joe was a decent fighter IMO...He style wasnt all that though. Windmilling your opponents isnt all that to me. LOL.
