Taylor fought good, measured paced boxing matches wit Pavlik in the rematch and Froch. Still, his stamina failed him. And I think his chin is dented now too. I don't think a new trainer will help him any. Dude is done as a top fighter imo.

I don't know what to really make of this. Cintron isn't a resurrected fighter by beating a B-level opponent in Angulo. And Taylor is jumping right back into the fire without showing us he can beat a top caliber opponent. Shields will probably do some good for him though.

Yeah, it's a little confusing to me as well.

Oddly enough Cintron trained with Manny Steward at the same time Taylor did.

Anyway this is just pure speculation on my part, but why else would Taylor abandon Miami to train in Houston, unless it's because of his recent arrest in Miami... plus with Guinn being trained by Shields, and Taylor and Guinn being buddies... everything just seems to point to Shields.

Taylor seems to be pretty tense in the ring, so he tires out near the end. Against Froch it was really like watching an hour glass.

It was also poor ring advice from Ozzie Nelson. Nelson told Taylor that he need to win rounds 12 when he really didn't. All Talyor had to do in the 12th round, was constantly stay away and no exchange and he would of won the fight.

Am I the only one who thinks Jermain looked great in the 1st Pavlik fight except that he ran out of stamina trying to finish it in the second? Although he won the 2nd for me, he looked dominant on the 1st one.

Taylor needs to put more work in training. He should be putting no less than 24 rounds worth of work in during sessions. His regimen for Froch was disappointing to me. 10-12 rounds of sparring wasn't leaving him with good stamina reserves.

The fatigue can be fixed I think, Jermain needs a prayer on defense though. He has no footwork, backs up in straight lines, and drops that left when flustered.

I heard Jermain was have another co-trainer train with Ozzie Nelson. I'm not sure who it is.

Any responsible trainer would have done the same, even though 2 official judges had it by 3 points going into the last round, it was a close fight. Froch had been coming on strong and Jermain had only won 1 maybe 2 in the last half.

Anyways... Shields is an underrated trainer, but unless he can teach Taylor how to effectively hide his severe stamina problem, it won't matter. Taylor threw 390 ****ing punches against Froch and still got exhausted!

No word on a new head trainer for Taylor, which leads me to believe he's sticking with Ozell Nelson, but it's been confirmed that he's training at one of George Foreman's gyms in Houston, probably his private training facility.

Jermain Taylor plans to train for the super middleweight tournament at George Foreman's training camp in Houston. Taylor's trainer Ozell Nelson wants Foreman to offer input. "George knows what it feels like to be on top and then go all the way down again," Nelson said
