That is the funny thing.....but c'mon...does anyone really care that Ali lost? Sugar Ray? Joe Louis? Hitman?

No...we remember them for getting up, dusting themselves off, and getting back in there with the fighter mentality.

It would be one of the GREATEST SHAMES in PROFESSIONAL SPORTS if Floyd Jr. is beaten and walks aways from the sport he claimed he was the best at or lost his "edge"......very shameful indeed.

I've thought about this for a while too...I started to really detest Floyd after the Baldomir fight...and then thinking this route after Hatton.....he went from a hungry lion....to a loudmouth hobo....except he didn't beg for money.

I use to be one of those who followed Floyd thru the ranks....then he fell to the dark side...notice how this all coincidently happened after leaving Top Rank....but that'll be for another thread.

It would be massive shame, but I don't think it's likely. He'd first of all probably take a rematch, and I highly doubt he'd allow his legacy to have a huge shadow cast over it just like that. Even if he found someone who he just could not beat he'd still likely continue to compete and win until the losses were forgotten.

Personally I think the whole stigma attached to his '0' is a bad thing. Both sides (himself and his detractors) have made it such a big issue that when and if he finally loses it it'll do him a lot more harm than it would most other boxers

Your statement was one of the reasons I did this thread.....

If Floyd is the Champion he claims to be (and who I personally thought we would've become) then he NEEDS that "0" more than anything...especially if he isn't going to fight any of the elite fighters.....

Its HOW HE WILL comeback from the Loss is the huge question....if he comes back better, stronger and more focused (as if he needs to work on those) from the Loss...and destroys all comers like EVERYONE thought he would, more power to him and his place on the ATG list is cemented.....

However, if he losses, retires and hides, his place on the ATG Fraud list is cemented as well.

Mayweather's leg to stand on as a great fighter is more about his undefeated record than the opponents he fought. Why do you think he made that excuse to not fight Mosley, Cotto, or Margarito in that interview with Brian Kenny? Calzaghe strikes me as the same way even though he is not as ****y about it like Mayweather is. These guys love the fact they are undefeated.

I don't know what will happen if floyd losses,I would hate to see floyd end up like Roy,or like the Prince!!But really,I don't think floyd has the attitude of say a Mosley or the Punisher in regards to losing getting up,dusting of,going back to the drawing board and giving boxers the buisness!!

If Floyd loses hel'l end up exactly like Roy, a once great fighter who fights on too long

Funnily enough Roy was criticised for his opponent selection in his prime

That's not true at all... Floyd has a great resume, one of the best in current boxing

The '0' just amplifies it's impressiveness even more
