Mayweather's leg to stand on as a great fighter is more about his undefeated record than the opponents he fought. Why do you think he made that excuse to not fight Mosley, Cotto, or Margarito in that interview with Brian Kenny? Calzaghe strikes me as the same way even though he is not as ****y about it like Mayweather is. These guys love the fact they are undefeated.
NONE of those guys can remember the words Floyd Mayweather during the post-fight interview.Comment

Margarito called Mayweather out to his face and Mosley tried like hell to get in the ring with Floyd after he beat Collazo. Cotto is the only one who didn't call Mayweather out.Comment

I would LOVE for either a loss or close fight to make Floyd rededicate himself to actual boxing, but I don't think it will happen. If he gets a tough fight or loses to JMM, he will probably refuse to fight anyone tough and beat on bums, claiming something like "I am the best and don't have to prove it to anyone."Comment

The best opponent on his resume is a prime Castillo. None of Floyd's opponents since then have went on to do anything meaningful. Sharmba Mitchell went on to get sparked by Paul Williams. Baldomir went on to get his ass handed to him by a past it and one-armed Vernon Forrest. And countless opponents on Floyd's resume have went on to get stopped by Cotto. And we know the story with Hatton and De La Hoya. And isn't it funny that he hasn't fought one opponent that went on to beat his left overs?Comment
