Why can't Pacman fight Cotto at 147? If he wants the welterweight title, fight at welterweight.
i don't think pacquiao cares tbh.

      most pac fans don't either.

this is more pac's people and roach than manny imo.

And between 143 and 147 is four pounds. Big deal. Make Pac-Cotto at 147 and be done with it. Cotto will be healthy and Pacman will get all the credit if he wins. I'm just so sick of months of negotiations for every big fight. "The split should be 57-43" "No way, 60-40 is it!" "It should be at 145." "No it should be at 144." I wish boxing was run like UFC. We'd spend less time worrying about splits and weights, and more time watching fights. All this crap discourages me as a devoted boxing fan.
agreed which is why ufc is taking over. good post

Man, ya'll are some biggots for real LOL.

Because the funny thing is...all of you guys complaining about catchweight fights WILL STILL watch the fights regardless, but you'll spend countless hours breaking down why they shouldn't happen.

If you look at all the division in Boxing, out of the top ten in each there's an average of maybe 2-3 standout fighters. So in the case of Cotto who's fought the top 3-4 WWs in the last 2 1/2 years, now he's not allowed to fight a Manny Pacquiao who's been moving up in weight consistently for years?

I agree, but if that's the case, he needs to be more vocal about it.

I think the catchweights are more than fair. If 145 is the highest weight you feel comfortable at dont fight higher than that. 2lbs may not sound like a big difference, but it really can be especially at an elite level.

No one is saying Pac should fight Cotto at 147 and come in at 147. Go ahead and come in at 145. It didn't hurt him against DLH.

i say we should just make it easy for whiny cotto fans and cancel the fight. they don't really want it.
