    Catchweights are ruining boxing

There's too much negotiations on purse splits as is, catchweights are making things even more complicated. Seriously, don't we have enough weight divisions so two fighters can agree on a weight? Why the hell should we even be arguing about 143 vs. 145, IT'S TWO POUNDS. And between 143 and 147 is four pounds. Big deal.

Make Pac-Cotto at 147 and be done with it. Cotto will be healthy and Pacman will get all the credit if he wins.

I'm just so sick of months of negotiations for every big fight.

    "The split should be 57-43"
    "No way, 60-40 is it!"

    "It should be at 145."
"No it should be at 144."

I wish boxing was run like UFC. We'd spend less time worrying about splits and weights, and more time watching fights. All this crap discourages me as a devoted boxing fan.

it seems boxing is evolving into something where belts and weight classes are meaningless

maybe it'll be good for the sport, who knows. it'll be more flexible and accomodating that's for sure

To some extent I hope you're right. Maybe lack of clarity will ruin the organizations and force the sport to evolve. I can only hope.

Every UFC PPV, they get closer and closer. Every mega-fight, boxing becomes more politics than pugilism. I'm seriously getting sick of it. I regret not ordering UFC 100. It would have been much better than the last couple boxing mega ripoffs.

just cancel the cotto/pac fight so cotto fan's vaginas will stop leaking.

You know what. Great point. I'm not a Paul Williams fans, but for christ's sake at least someone is a taking on all challenges.

Williams hasn't fought at a catchweight yet, has he?

Fine by me. I'm sick of this ****. Pacman now thinks that because he's #1 P4P, he has to be a demanding little *****. If that's how you like your fighters why not be a Mayweather fan? At least he's honest about it.

Are you a Pacman fan? Must be discouraging to see someone who claims "No Fear" act like such a *****.

Right on. That's what Pacman did for Oscar and it worked just fine. I don't see why he's so intent on getting Cotto to be drained.
