Sorry about not getting the sarcasm, I thought you were at first then I saw you follow it up with more of the same stuff...sadly, sarcasm doesn't bode well on forums

I was reading a comparison thread of jmm/pbf catchweight vs cotto/pac and it got me thinking. One of the biggest issues people have with jmm/pbf is that jmm is new to the weight and he's unproven to be successful at that weight.
Given that so many people don't give Pac credit for his fights at 140 and 147, how can they say he's proven at those weights? Its kinda silly to say Pac's a LWW at the same time his one fight at that weight was a "fluke" where Hatton could have been knocked out by anybody.
So which is it, did he prove himself above 140 against hatton and DLH or were the flukes and he should still be considered a 135 pounder?Comment

Pink? See that's what you cannot see. The 2 fighters are not making excuses, it's the idiot fans for both fighters that are making excuses. Cotto is okay with 65-35 or 70-30 split, he is okay with 145-147, just does not want to fight at lower than 145 and pacman does not want to fight at 146-147.Comment

He completely obliterated the reigning no question 140 pound champ, so I think he is proven at 140. It's easy in hindsight to make excuses and act like everyone knew Hatton was shot, but no one thought Hatton would get wiped out like that, and no one was claiming anyone else at 140 was the real champ.
As for his whole career, how is he not proven? He knocked out Barrera when he was the no question top fighter at featherweight and was only a year removed from beating Morales. He pretty much destroyed everyone he has fought since then with the exception of one fight to Morales and 2 fights with Marquez, in which he has a draw and a win.
He's not proven at 147, but he hasn't fought there so no one is claiming he is.Comment
