  • Mikkel Kessler Can Still Become #1 SMW Ever

Even with his loss to Calzaghe if he wins this tournament he can end up with wins over Taylor, Abraham, Froch, Ward, or Dirrell. And even after its over he can get wins over Pavlik, Bute, Green, Jacobs. The pool is so deep right his resume @SMW will surpass Calzaghe who refused a rematch after their close fight.

Interesting point, these tournaments are great for boxing and keeps these guys active. I kind of fell off the information wagon on this one, what are the rules? Rounds? What more can you tell me about this tourney again? Refresh my memory because right now I am doing other things other than reading and staying informed.
Thanks. PS. don't copy and paste an entire article, just touch on the key points.

if kessler does as you say and wins all his fights then any true boxing fans will see him as the greatest smw ever(after he beats bute too),only the calzaghe nuthuggers and uneducated fools will say not....

He will eventually lose to one of them.

Plus Calzaghe had every ****ing Belt at 168(IBF,WBC,WBO,WBA and teh RIng), Plus 20 Title defenses. Its very hard to top that!!!!!!

Agreed. The SMW division has much better fighters now than it did during Calzaghe's reign. It only depends on whether he can fight them all and beat them all.

Calzaghe will probably not be outdone in terms of supremacy at 168 lbs. He topped his long reign by unifying titles and beating 2 undefeated younger champions. Kessler has the potential to do some great things, but even if he were to enter and win this tournament, I doubt he would stay at SMW for much longer. Winning the tournament would likely be satisfactory for him in terms of accomplishment for the division. In fact, whoever wins it may well move up immediately after.

                I highly doubt it.

I don't see that ****. Look how long it's taken him to even consider a tough fight since gettin beat by Joe C.
