Pacquiao, who won the junior welterweight championship in May with a knockout of Ricky Hatton, has only fought once above junior welterweight limit when he forced Oscar De La Hoya into retirement in December."

In fact, show me any mention of it not being for the belt.
Ha ha. Chill, man. And thanks btw. Not all of us have the time to research and read all this stuff. But just so you know, the news isn't always the truth; in fact, it's mostly second hand accounts from reporters and they're not always right. We'll see if a contract gets signed that says it's for the title, but it looks like you're right for now.

Is Pacman ******ed 80% of almost is 100% of a whole lot of nothing, either sign at 140 or 147 or go **** yourself. This senseless battle over weight makes me think he's just bull****tin'. it's simple fight at 140 or 147 **** the middle since no one will agree 145 is reasonable bitching about 2 pounds 1 pound is just bitchassness period. 140 or 147 what happened to old school cut and dry, if Pacman p4p and cotto want him go to his division, if Pacman want Cotto go to his. Clearly the middle isn't working for anyone, and 80% means nothing in boxing. It only matters when it's signed and on the books for real.

have got it if he really wanted it) Floyd called Mosley out on numerous
occasions even after one of his fights. Margarito wasn't worth it instead
left Arum and opted for De La Hoya (Can't blame him), Berto? PLEASE!
Clottey? He needs to win a significant fight because he lost 2 big ones.
Williams? Nobody is trying to krack at Williams in the 147 division so
why all the pressure on Floyd? Cotto has Williams WBO belt that he
            didn't win from Williams.

Floyd was calling out Mosley when Floyd wasn't a draw, oh wait... Floyd still isn't a draw which is why they rescheduled the fight for some Mexican Holiday. Lmao, I just re-read the Margarito thing... he passed on a fight because it isn't worth it? What isn't? The money? Fine, but don't act like you're the best of all time if you can't even fight the best in your division, that's being a ***** plain and simple and that's all that really needs to be said.

Mayweather HAS NOT even fought the best in his division whoever was calling whoever out. Don't even bring up Williams at least Cotto has fought Mosley, Clottey, Margarito and Judah. Of those 4 Mayweather fought the easiest of them all in Judah. So please, just STFU about Floyd the guy picks and chooses his fights in order to look good, spout off at the mouth about how good he is and then not face any great fighters in the process. If that **** was allowed in any other sport the Lakers would have just chosen to play the Thunder, Raptors and the Bobcats in the playoffs and then say they are the world champs. GTFO of here with that ****.

Co-sign.You just laid the boxing bible on some mayweather fools in here.

Its true that mayweather hadn't even built a name yet when he called out mosley.

He denied the margarito fight for what reason??? (not to mention the money offer was VERY good).

And somebody watch the video clip of "money's" last fight interview with larry merchant about cotto.

To be the best you got to beat the best.
No hate,be he hasnt done it.

Mosley,Margarito,Clottey, williams, these all are legitimate guys that floyd will never even step in the ring with.Cotto on the other hand has FACED most of them. With no pause bull**** about "oh his money isn't right,he hasnt built a name, such and such isn't marketable".

Garanteed he'll fight JMM,then "close" his career with the winner of pac and cotto.Leaving the rest of the division who some vulnerable to beat him, in the dust with out a fight.

true that!...i hope this fight does'nt get made ...too much drama and bs already.......i know it'wouldnt be different with a pac vs floyd fight but atleast it's the fight most of us want to see......

This fight will get done at 145 and im excited for it. If pac pulls the upset and wins his 7th world title n a 7th weight class that would be very historic. All that would be left would be a final fight with Floyd, though i wont hold my breath for that.

I mean if Cotto alreary stated that he wont go lower than 145, what teh **** Manny will do walk away?

He know Cotto wont go lower!!!!!!!!
like I said before......expect Pac to come up with an injury because if Cotto doesnt have to commit suicide to make weight then Pac can forget about scoring the bigger purse in a fight with Floyd!!!.....the fight with Floyd is THE fight he wants!!!

How do you know? Do you have a link or proof to what your saying?
Not a draw? Has Oscar of Hatton done the PPV #'s with Manny that
they did with Floyd? NO, and those are facts what your stating is NOT.
in The Ring Magazine in 2006 the guys at 147 WERE RANKED AS THE
BEST IN 147! Not Cotto/Margarito/Clottey/Williams. Floyd did what
Manny is doing now and that's once you get to the top you get big
$ fights but you won't pull Manny's card only Floyd's.

Ok so if Judah was the easiest of them all, Cotto must of fought the
easiest Judah because Floyd fought him first WHEN IT MATTERED.
Cotto still got his mouth bust open and had to low blow Judah, I
remember Judah doing the opposite to Floyd, right or wrong? PLUS
Floyd career spans from 130 where he is considered the BEST #1 or #2
Jr Lightweight in the sport of Boxing that moved all the way up to
154 and won a title..........Question.........When has Miguel Cotto
EVER won a title from ANY champion? Cotto has only fought in
2 divisions and in fact struggled in 140 (Torres/Corley). Sure he
has fought the best top guys at 147, Floyd was doing his thing then
retired. Cotto has had two tough fights at 147 he won Mosley/Clottey
and he hasn't rematched Mosley and I'm sure he won't rematch Clottey.
Floyd had a tough time with Castillo, what did he do IMMEDIATELY?
Give him a rematch. Floyd career and accomplishments FAR exceed
Cotto's. Floyd was P4P #1 before he even got to WW. Baldomir
NO MATTER if we consider him the best or not he still was the
RECOGNIZE WW CHAMP IN THE DIVISION PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
