No, Ali isn't "the greatest", he's top-ten though. I've watched almost all of Ali's wins and he isn't nearly as impressive as the writers made/make him sound. I think he tends to get overrated because of his political activism controversies like draft dodging and his "black power" ties to the racist Malcolm X.

Ali was a lot more impressive than your hero Ricky hatton. If he wasn't that good why do you rate him "top 10"?

I consider him one of the Greatest Heavy's. I also consider him one of the greatest sport personalities of all time.

It is all just opinion though. It really is all just a popularity contest. Some claim Robinson was the greatest but I don't. He is a great yes, but not the greatest IMO.

I cannot claim a greatest fighter, because no matter how good you are, there is always someone out there who has your number. Quite often many that could have your number if you are willing to consider newer generations of fighters without prejudice.

ali won the HW title 3 times, he has wins over ATG's like foreman, frazier, liston, patterson, moore etc and also plenty of top contenders
