Not just slagging him off because i'm a Haye fan but, I was reading his profile on Wikipedia and it says he has a son called Max, named after Max Schmeling who was in the Hitler youth. I mean its like me naming my kid Adolf!!!

Max Schmeling was much more than that. There was a good side to him. Him and Joe Louis ended up being friends and he even helped paying for Joe's funeral as Joe was broke and treated like **** IN AMERICA. Max Schmeling was kinder to Joe Louis, a black man who took his HW crown, than most Americans even been. So even if he was a **** he ended up seeing better and wider than any ****.

I think Vitaly naming his first son Max has to do a lot with the fact that when both brothers just came onto german boxing scene in mid 90s Maxi boy helped them a lot with boxing and managing advice that neither brother knew much about before.

Vitali is not German, he's from Ukraine a country that was invaded by Germany during World War II. Most probably a relative of Vitali's were killed during the war.

The Klitschkos grew up in Germany where Schmeling is from and since Vitali is a boxer and grew up in the same country I am sure Schmeling was an idol of his. I don't think it is racist at all.
