i still think people are overlooking mayweather's inactivity. I'm not saying the weight is a big issue, because i think it's going to be play a big role in this fight, however mayweather's inactivity brings this fight more closer to neutral ( not saying it's neutral ) marquez is going to have to fight the fight of his life and everyone knows marquez has the power to hurt mayweather- the challenge is catching him. I fully co-sign this sentiment. Floyd is going to be in for one Hell of a shock (as are a lot of Boxingscene posters) if they expect Marquez is going in there to play his part and act as a tune-up!

Marquez lays down for no man, 147lbs or not, this one will go right down to the wire. I think Floyd will walk away with a narrow decision however, after adapting and snatching the later rounds one way or another

I used to see this as a mismatch but now...not so much. In fact, this extra delay really helps Marquez IMO and hurts Floyd.

This is a mismatch at any weight or any age.

I absolutely agre with you. Everyone seems to have forgotten that Marquez is really a 130 lb'er or even a featherweight. he is small, and already at least 37 years old. He is long pAST HIS BEST, past his best, never mind that he won a lightweight title. His opponent there was even further over the hill. I think it was Casamayor, who hasn't been anywhere near his best or several years already.

Mayweather, old fishmouth, has a big advantage in size, youth, speed, and at least equal skills. Marquez is badly misplaced as the $2 lb for lb. He's there mainly because of his showings against Manny P. when Manny wasn't nearly as good as he is now.

Just my opinion.
