would boxing have a different history if russians could turn pro back in the day?

Did you get this from me saying Ali, Foreman, and Frazier are better than ALL of the heavyweights today? No, that is not an American elitist speaking, that is a rational person speaking.

If I was all for American boxers I'd be riding Kelly Pavlik's **** and claiming Eddie Chambers is the best in the world.

LOL at Americans using the weak ass pathetic NBA/NFL bull**** excuses

The whole NFL/NBA thing is a cop out. First off they've always been around NFL,NBA,ABA,AFL,CFL,etc.... Second you're acting like Russia or wherever don't have other sports as well that draw potentially good boxers away from boxing.

In Eastern Europe there is worlds strongest man, weight lifting, power lifting, wrestling, rugby, hockey, MMA and Russia's national sport Combat Sambo.

You Americans need to stop making excuses

Alexander Karelin - Greatest wrestler of all time

Worlds strongest man....dominated by Eastern Europeans

Fedor Emelianenko...Greatest MMA fighter of all time

They deserve where they are at even if we think all our fighters suck. I'm saying they arent a great enough bunch to even think boxing history would have been very different.

You obviously know little about American culture.

They are not excuses, they are facts. Dozens boys in America dream of becoming the next Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao, Arthur Abraham, Floyd Mayweather, ect.. Millions of boys dream of becoming "like Mike," like Lebron, like LT, like A-Rod. Basketball and football are parts of kids school sports. All of them have access to them.

VERY few towns even have boxing gyms. EVERY town has a football field, a basketball court, and a baseball field.

basically it was a sizeable chunk of the world's population that was excluded from pro boxing for about 40-50 years. there must have been some tough fuuckers who we never got to see because of the ban

Yup you are right. To think other wise is just being ignorant.

You are correct, but also in these other countries its the exact same thing.

Um, no. It's not the same exact thing. Every German knows who Wlad is. Less than half of the US knows Floyd Mayweather is a boxer.
