Ok let's set this staight Beristain : Mayweather is a small welterweight. He officially weighed 150 when he fought DLH. He could have showed up at 154: he didn't. Why ? Because he's walking around at 150, not 160. Floyd could make 140 if he wanted to. The 3 pounds is irrelevant. Floyd will win anyway.

The rumors are out there again. A few weeks ago, there were rumors that Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Juan Manuel Marquez, scheduled to take place at the catch-weight of 143/144-pounds [depending on who you ask], was going to get bumped to the full welterweight limit of 147. The weight changed was disputed by those who are close to the fight. Then the fight got pushed back due to an injury to Mayweather's rib and the new date of September 19 has been locked down. First of all, this is just somebody "hearing", it is a rumor... so don't just jump to conclusions cause it is Floyd.

I am gonna be honest, the weight thing has always been confusing me... it hasn't made sense, some people say 143, some people say 144 and then I see Floyd in the press conference say "this is just a welterweight fight", I don't know which one it is an am confused, have articles got it wrong, is it 147? Or is it just BS and the fight is at 143 or 144... I don't have a clue and am confused... I am just gonna wait and see until more information comes out on it.

On a side note, Floyd has never bulked up to 160 in his fight, 149 is the most at WW... however I respect the fact that Floyd's body could have changed through the lay-off...

I aint gonna jump to conclusions... I think there has been confusion cause I was always a bit unsure, so I am just gonna wait and see. I think if they were to put it up to 147 Marquez would have heard about it and his trainer before it happened... so I am unsure, it might just be rumors.

Floyd has always maintained the fight was @ 147 even during press conferences.This had always been the official position.I do not know who started this 143 because even at the first Presser it was 147 and in London he insisted it was 147.Manuel could have disputed it then.

Also Floyd never comes in at 160,at the best he's 2lbs above 147.
