Mayweather vs Marquez Bumped Up To 147-Pounds?

The rumors are out there again. A few weeks ago, there were rumors that Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Juan Manuel Marquez, scheduled to take place at the catch-weight of 143/144-pounds [depending on who you ask], was going to get bumped to the full welterweight limit of 147. The weight changed was disputed by those who are close to the fight. Then the fight got pushed back due to an injury to Mayweather's rib and the new date of September 19 has been locked down. This is like the third time that this fight has been rumored to take place at 147 lbs. So what the f#ck is the deal here? I would rather watch this fight with Mayweather having to get down to 143-144. But if it happens at 147, so be it. I a lot of times criticize Manny Pacquiao for trying to get Mosley and Cotto to drain weight, so I won't use double standards. But the reason why this situation with Marquez and Mayweather is a little bit different is the fact that Marquez has never fought above 135 before, where Pacquiao has fought higher than what he is currently trying to get Cotto to come in at. And the fact that Nacho Beristain is the one who is bringing this up is the reason it could hold some truth to it.

            160 lol

Ok let's set this staight Beristain : Mayweather is a small welterweight. He officially weighed 150 when he fought DLH. He could have showed up at 154: he didn't. Why ? Because he's walking around at 150, not 160. Floyd could make 140 if he wanted to. The 3 pounds is irrelevant. Floyd will win anyway.

Ya but he's going to look like a b!tch doing it. I still got faith in my Marquez though. He has too much heart combined with intelligence which = deadly.

nacho should really talk to jmm about what the actual catchweight is gonna be. they should pull out if it's at 147 lbs. the higher the catchweight, the less chance JMM has to win.

I think JMM could pull out as they believed they would be fighting at a catchweight of 144 lbs but was suckered into fighting at 147 lbs.

EXACTLY, making a LW move up to fight a legit WW is bull**** if you ask me, but I still don't fully believe it and I know Floyd won't ballon to 160, unless he is REALLY struggling to make weight.
