well i think most fighters gets even better after their 1st loss. perfect example is PAC himself after his 1st ko lost, where is he now?not to mention lot of other fighters w/ 1st KO loss. you can't judge hatton got shot after his 1st loss to PBF, he just face a better fighter in PAC.he looks great against malignaggi but PAC made him look shot, give credit where the credit is due.

Are you serious? There's a huge flaw in your post...Manny had plenty of time to improve where it was early in his career when he suffered a KO, now Hatton on the other hand was set in his ways with over 40 fights when he 1st go ko'd. So the point you was trying to make is out the window. And I gave Pac credit by saying it was more impressive KO. Your seriously not trying to put Pauly in the same category as Floyd and Pac are you?

I want Cotto to win, just because I have come to admire his work ethic, seriousness for the sport and he has truley earned my respect.
And you know my history with Cotto's career and his fans.

Remember I created the "Cotto is a HUGE ~~> ??" Thread
And I made infamous the vacant belt argument...

So i can honestly say, I was a critic of cotto for valid reasons.

Simply because his fans place standards on other fighters that they didnt even place on cotto... Which made me place tougher standards on cotto than I would have normally have.

I honestly feel Cotto, is the only 1 of 3 fighter right now with the skill, physical , and mental attributes to make a fight with Mayweather competitive.

But what worries me about this fight is I feel Cotto is going to chase Pacquiao around the ring which he should not do, because Pacquiao is a serious enough puncher in which he can hurt cotto.

I have always said this about Cotto.

Cotto Flaws....Of Getting HIT alot , and wasting a lot of punches, Is a flaw you can not afford to have against The Elite Fighters And ESPECIALLY a fighter like Pacquiao... and sadley enough he still gets hit too much.

              Cotto Flaws

              Swings wide,
              Waste Punches,
              has a shaky chin
Cant stop straight right hands or uppercuts,
and is under progressing in the lateral movement department.

Cotto has always had a good jab, cotto has always had good speed....Cotto is a good fighter...real good...he is a good body puncher and works hard..

              But Pacquiao, is a freak.
PACQUIAO is an offensive fighting machine who overwhelms opponents through blistering hand speed and power. His defense is somewhat suspect since he is a “hit me and I’ll hit you harder” kind of fighter, but his last fights against bigger opponents have shown that he can deflect or absorb heavy punishment.

Manny Pacquaio as of right now belongs in every catergory Floyd Mayweather
jr is in although not better than floyd yet, Manny can soon pass floyd up as the greatest fighter of this generation including Floyd if he continue doing what he is doing. Think about this, Manny Pacquaio has fought in three divisions in one year.

Manny and Floyd have both proven that "Size doesnt win fights" Smarts and Ability win fights

So with that said, I am picking Pacquiao to win.

Reason: Cotto gets hit too much !
right....I also think that cotto get a lot..

but who was that bigger fighter that tested pac?

i think pac can win a D... and hes going to need to do some runing... and hes not that kind of fighter.. he will throw as many punches as he can... and the diffrence about his previous 2 fights is that hes going to get tagged too....

I disagree with you on the many's dealing with the bigger fighter since he hasnt been hit yet.. he has been flawless in his previous 2 fights... but Im def. sure that he will get tagged in this one..... and even that manny has improve a lot.. the jmm fight wasnt that long a go.. and if wobble him... I think cotto can do it too... !

                    Defensive skills: Mayweather > Pacquiao

                    Offensive skills: Mayweather < Pacquiao
                    Excitement: Mayweather < Pacquiao
                    Character: Mayweather < Pacquiao
                    Resume: Mayweather < Pacquiao

Beside Mayweather will never have a 6 titles in 6 different weight divisions unless he fights real WW champions and JMW champions but he avoiding them like a plague. So? Pacquiao not only better but greater than Mayweather.

You have to remember when Manny Pacquiao was getting Knockout
Floyd Mayweather was winning fighter of the year awards and beat fighters like Genaro Hernandez.

You have to remember pacquiao was 21 years old when he got knock out in the 3 round ....

Ask yourself what was Mayweather doing when he was 21 years old?

.I will give you the answer.. He was winning Fighter of the year awards by knocking out fighters like Genaro Hernandez who never lost at 130.
By Knocking out fellow top ranked contenders like Angel Manfredy.

While Pacquiao was getting Knockout by No name opponents.. Mayweather was winning Fighter of the year awards by fighting world class opponents...

                      Just think about that..!
                      ****ing Horus again.

Ok Horus. When Pac was 30 he was fighting Cotto. When Mayweather was also 30 he was fighting Marquez, a LW, who he screwed over by coming in way over the agreed weight limit.

In the last however many years up to now (which, by the way, is the most important part of the equation you're missing), the best fighters Mayweather has beaten is Oscar and Hatton. Pac beat them much worse than Mayweather as well as Morales, Marquez (at Marquez' proper weight), Barrera. All higher ATG's than Corrales and Castillo.

Most importantly though, is the fact that Pac is now fighting genuine WW's after winning a title at 112. He is smaller than Mayweather, who refused to even come in at the agreed weight, which already favoured him 110%, against an old, small LW, yet he is fighting the bigger, better fighters now.

Face it. Pac is a greater fighter than Mayweather overall. I think he would lose if they both fought, but Pac is smaller, came up from a much smaller weight, has fought in many more divisions and fought the much better opposition in all those, and fights the better, bigger challenges. You lose.

You say look at their whole careers, and yet you are only focusing on Mayweather's very early career. Compared to Pac, lately Mayweather has done **** all (ie. the last six, whatever years after 135). Mayweather started at 130 and is fighting at 147 now, yet has not actually fought any of the main guys there. Pac started at 106 and is also fighting at 147 now, fighting the top guy. Yeah, yeah, Mosley this Mosley that, but Cotto beat Mosley already and Cotto brings more to the fight.
