    Freddie Roach To Train Ortiz?

About 10-15 minutes after the fight, as I made my way across the ring to talk to Freddie Roach, he was having a discussion with Schaefer, ringside. You don't have to be a member of MENSA to get an idea of what they were talking about - Roach becoming the new trainer for Ortiz. I was asked by a few fans and boxing figures what I thought of the proceedings. My answer was simple: "Great fight, but Ortiz needs a new trainer." Almost A Star

Pure speculation at this point, but could Ortiz be another one of Roach's fighters? It would be a good move for Victor, but I eventually want to see him take out Khan in a huge fight. He needs someone to teach him and repeat to him to use the jab.

IMO it wasn't his trainers fault that he was getting hit by that right hand though. He was dodging it, for the most part, until the cut was opened. That's when he completely fell apart.

Pefect fix for Ortiz. Roach will ***** and give all the advantages to Ortiz so he dosen't have to face his opponets at their best.

Won't make a difference. Ortiz has no heart and his comments suggested he is not man enough to take the worst moments in boxing. At least Juan Diaz tries to continue and win when he gets cut(although he is uncomfortable) but Ortiz just flat out quit. Even Cintron has a bigger heart than this guy.

i thought the same thing. but nah man its danny garcia. victor does need a new trainer. he isnt a bad trainer but he isnt a world class trainer. and for the heights that ortiz is expected to reach by everyone, he really needs a world class trainer. freddie roach would work perfect with some one like ortiz.

It won't happen. Khan and Ortiz are on a collision course, and Roach and Khan seem to be working out quite well together.

Fair enough, so you wouldn't say getting dropped in the first, getting back up on wobbly legs, fighting back instead of holding, and in the next round knocking his opponent down takes heart?

No, but he is trying to implant an artificial chin.

I found what Ortiz said in his post fight interview very strange, i think he himself needs to make a decision and ask himself how much he wants to be a fighter, because that was a relatively tough fight but not exactly brutal, so it makes you think how would he react at Championship level in a Brutal/taxing fight. Im not calling Victor a quitter or saying he has no heart, just that i think he needs to think a few things over in his head. Fighters with good defences still take punishment in this game, its just that nature of the Sport.

I hope Ortiz comes back stronger because i really like his style, personalty, he is a genuine nice person with a lot of talent.
