Campas was a good win back then too.

the difference is Vargas was rushed in to hard fights too young. he was like 22 when he fought Tito..
& Tito had trouble with the young guy, he even had to low blow 50+ times to win the fight.
Could you imagine Cotto fighting Tito or Oscar in 2002? the same thing would have happened to him and his career.

they thought Tito wasnt gonna be able to carry his power to '54 and they wanted to one-up oscar...after that first left hook in the 1st round, his career would never be the same

eh, well, it was a close fight. I wouldnt call it a robbery, but yes, quite controversial.
I believe I had Winky winning it though.

the Quartey win is indisputable though.

I think Vargas did by a little, he fought De la hoya, Mosley, Trinidad, Quartey in their prime.

Cotto is just a new buzz hype.

Vargas is better than Cotto. If they fought prime vs prime Vargas would win Cotto.

If Tito had hard time to crack him down and Tito is much more powerful puncher than Cotto ever will be. So imagine if Vargas coming foward and not effected by Cotto's punchs that much.

People who been watching boxing for some time would know how good is Vargas but for people who just recently watched boxing would say Cotto is better.

come on mr pink your turning into perros now, stop hating on cotto so much. COTTO is better because he's beaten the BETTER OPPOSITION. vargas is like oscar, his biggest fights all losses. vargas is the worst underachiever besides zab judah i think.
