Thank you......If HBO cant afford the fight then Pavlik can go to germany and make double what he would make in the states.

I think that is why they are not paying for it. These top rank ppv's with stars like juanma, cotto, pavlik, etc. are fine. But you have to remember when you have a fight like Pavlik vs Sturm that would not do well at all ppv, HBO will low ball out of spite because they're not making money on other fighters in the top rank stable. I'm glad they're doing this to Arum, the guy is scum. His greed has finally come back to bite him in his ass.

Pavlik Sturm is a great fight. I hope it gets made.

I think Sturm is very underrated on here.

Sturm is an excellent fighter and could outpoint Pavlik. I wouldn't bet on it though. I still see Kelly as the favourite.

So many fights is falling through for various reasons ATM it's so depressing. So many great potential match-ups to be made in the last half of 2009 but perhaps the general recession and flat-out incompetence from promotors prevents things from happening?

hbo is not broke! LOL! They just have no interest in sturm but it's a unification bout that would lead to a undisputed fight with Abraham at years end.pavlik has lost some of his luster fighting a rubio & losing to Hopkins.I can't believe someone said hbo is broke.

This issue is a double edged sword for me. I want to see Pavlik knock Sturm out because while slick, Sturm's far overrated and has almost no power. That said I think HBO is just following standard business practices and knows that they can lowball Arum because of the small interest in the fight. I also believe they may be trying to force a Pavlik vs. Abraham fight as I'm sure HBO would pay pick that fight up without hesitation.

I don't believe however that Arum, Pavlik, or his team want anything to do with Abraham which has been clearly demonstrated several times by Arum's lame "no one knows who he is excuses", purse excuses, money excuses etc. If Pavlik or his team or even Arum wanted this fight it would be made.

There's nothing more I'd love to see that a unified and undisputed Middleweight Champion of the world but that's not going to happen. Pavlik may fight Sturm at some point (that fight should NOT be PPV by the way) but I don't believe an Abraham fight will ever materialize.

Yeah but if that happens, Pavlik won't be able to win a decision.
