I can't see Sylvester ever becoming the top fighter at middleweight, despite the lack of depth in the division, but he is a solid top 5 contender. He simply doesn't have the "equalizer" of Abraham, his great punching power, the height/reach of Kelly Pavlik nor the superior technical skills of Felix Sturm.

I do think that if Abraham decides to vacate the belt, Sylvester will be the one to capture it in case he fights Giovanni Lorenzo, Khoren Gevor or Amin Asikainen for it. That is of course unless he gets caught.

I believe he will get past Lajuan Simon but Simon is a bit of a question mark. He looked solid against Abraham (who seemed drained) but aside from that he hasn't fought anyone of note. I'm interested in how he will perform.

Oral sucks he got his ass kicked by his sparring partner. I only hope Abraham doesn't look past this fighter just because his sparring partner beat the **** out of him.

I see Oleg Platov won his non-televised fight on the undercard.

        From fight news:

26-year old Ukrainian heavyweight Oleg Platov (28-1, 22 KOs), who was previously ranked by major sanctioning bodies before his one-year-long layoff, scored a workmanlike eight-round unanimous decision over well-known Russian journeyman and upset specialist Daniil Peretyatko (16-23, 6 KOs).

And the Germans promise to clap even more politely than they usually do!

One fan even promises to shout during the match, but the authorities told him they'd prefer he not do that.

At least the brought in Simple Minds to provide some british colour and provide Abraham with another over-the-top entrance.

I don't know if Simon was so solid. He didn't win more than a couple of rounds against Abraham. Still it might be fair to call him a top fighter in the division given the difference between the top guys and the pack.

He did better than Miranda atleast... By solid I meant durable.

I don't know what to make of his performance. He went the distance but on the other hand he didn't manage to do all that much, aside from the single left hook which stunned Abraham.

Most expected him to get knocked out, so it was either an above average performance by him or a subpar performance by Abraham.

The undercard is well under way, but no television yet. They are at fight no.4.

                    Results so far:

                    Garay-Kempf TKO 4 (upset)
                    Platov-Peretyatko UD
