In terms of his whole career.
    24 World title fights.. 23 successful defenses.. 2 weight champ.. 46 & 0..

Allowing Chad Dawson to make an honest living...

So if we go by numbers, Sven Ottke is also a ATG then?

Joe calzaghe is a charitable man as you pointed out, never before in boxing have so many bums got a shot at a world title.

Everyone forgets to mention that Calzaghe wanted Jones in his prime.. Even Jones admitted he avoided the fight himself. (trying to find YouTube vid where Roy actually says this). Had Calzaghe thought Jones in that particular era it would have put him on the boxing map and got him the recognition he deserves/d.

Calzaghe has never been afraid to say Jones is a legend and he is a big fan of his. Jones no doubt is still a credible fighter and still has the potential to be 70% of what he used to be, which i consider to be very dangerous.

The simple fact is Calzaghe can adapt to any situation, and fights on the fly, although he has lost most of his power due to breaking his hand in 2005 he has the brains to win any fight.

Roy Jones has a terrible problems with southpaws, and has also had issues with fighters that can do volume punching on him...such as Glen Johnson did. He knocked him out on attrition, not skill.

Jeese, if you hate hard enough you could use the same arguments for any fighter in the world........"ducked" "fought bums" etc etc....

RJJ moved to LHW to duck JC..........they could not have fought

What the f.uck are you on about.

to make it easy for you

1)If you judge Joe legacy on numbers alone, then sven ottke could be an ATG

            2) If you judge his legacy in depth, he has about 5/6 good wins out of 46 and 3 of them are against old men.

UKBrawler is your typical meathead nationalist. Had Calzaghe been from China or something, he wouldn't give a damn.

Some people need to understand Joe will never be in the same league as Toney, Hopkins, RJJ or even Tarver and Winky.

Seeing somewhere down the line, they've face on or the other in their primes.

Joe NEVER did, that, THAT is the argument. He's got the talent, but his resume is the one at question.

Thats fine by me, Ps. outside the UK no serious boxing fan, with two testicles, who can go to the toilet unaided, thinks Joe calzaghe is an ATG.
