It's not a matter of being a fan of one fighter or the other. Most of the Pinoy fans on these forums have also said they want Pac to fight Cotto at 147 for the sake of his legacy, and that they certainly don't want the fight to be at 143. It's great the Roach has said this now, though. 147 would still be a lot better legacy-wise, but 145 is okay because Cotto said he thinks he can make 145 without being weight drained, but not anything below that.

Yea I kinda knew that they weren't going to fight at 143. I just got sick of ppl kept making threads about it. I'm a big fan of Cotto as well. I didn't mean it like that though. No hate here.

if it's not for cotto's belt there's no point in this fight.

That's why even though it's much better than before, 145 is still bull****. How can you call yourself a Welterweight champion if you will only fight Welterweights at catchweight? I don't have a problem with it as a fight at 145, because Cotto says he can make 145 without being weight drained (but can't get any lower). But if it's for Cotto's Welterweight belt it should be at 147, otherwise it's bull****.
