At MW he had a reasonable (I say reasonable) shot at beating Sturm and Pavlik, those 3 guys are the only meaningful match ups at MW.

This is a crying shame for boxing, even if Arthur does fight at MW again he's clearly now very unhealthy there.
Why are you laying it all on Arum? It takes two to tango, They just could not reach a deal. It happens in the sport. It's not like Arum has protected Pavlik or anything. He placed Pavlik in there with some beasts the past 3 years.

i agree what a ****ing waste of a run at MW. Could have been much better. On the flip side, Pavlik may well move up soon for some competition after a few more wins, and then the SMW division will be huge, and Sturm can have the ****ty MW division, he doesnt seem to want any of AA anyway so **** him.

Im not so sure, not a nice thing to see Taylor again with blood filled mouth and sitting on the canvas.
Taylor is no longer considered a merit to beat, he didn't look good in the last 2 rd's against Froch and his stamina is not the best. AA is known for his great physique so he would run over Taylor the last 3-4 rd's if it goes that far

Bob Arum is a ***** for avoiding him. However I would like to se ehim face Taylor in his first 168 fight. Abraham isn't a busy fighter, so Taylor might not gas, but he punches hard and mmight put him to sleep.

Beg to differ here dude, and I think an increasing amount of people are.

Arum hardly ever talks of fighting Abraham yet it's the only fight any fans really want to see at MW. His own fighter goes on about it, and he just doesn't entertain it, in any interview or anything. And he has turned down deals, to face other guys. He's known for ages like everyone, that Pavlik wants this fight and Abraham is only at MW to sort stuff out there and unify once and for all, clarify the division.

What does he do, set up loads of other fighters and says maybe then, maybe then. He had no urgency at all in light of the situation. Even on articles on this site he was saying we could make the fight in Jan/Feb time. Then a matter of days later he was then saying March April, or to similar effect. What on earth has he been playing at all this time. He was just not interested in putting Kelly in there I'm afraid, even though he probably knows he'd still be favourite, he's the most dangerous yet only meaningful fight at MW right now.

Now it's gone, whilst Arthurs been waiting a heck of a long time and bidding for the unification fight, surprise surprise he can't hold out any longer.

            Rant over.

he has had problems with weight making for years.

I think he had to pull out after a weigh in once.

That was due to a disease. Rumour had it that he was so weakened from shedding weight that he's body sort of gave in.

Again it is not about what Abraham wants or what Pavlik wants. There is so much stuff that goes on behind the scenes that we don't hear. They most likely did negotiate a fight and could not come to terms. Pavlik nor Abraham cannot draw flies but I guarantee you they wanted about 5+ million each to fight each other. Talk on the internet and psuedo press releases are easy. Settling ego's and risking big money is another thing.

Like I said Arum has never protected Pavlik. He put him in there with tougher competition than Abraham's seen.
