Abraham battles weight yet again: "Sunday I am a supermiddleweight!"

Once again Arthur Abraham battles the scales before a titledefnse. In this last week before facing challenger Mahir Oral in Berlin, Arthur has to shed more than 8 kilos (around 18 lbs).

"I would have loved to beat Felix Sturm but our generous offer was turned down", Abraham says to BILD. From sunday AA starts his new career at supermiddleweight.

"Some great opponents are waiting for me. The 5 champions Balzay (WBO), Bika (IBO), Froch (WBC), Kessler (WBA) and Bute (IBF). Include also the US superstars Pavlik, Hopkins and Taylor. The division is the strongest in the world right now."

Man that is a ****load of weight to drop in 1 week. He can destroy his body doing that stuff. Sounds like SupperMiddle might even be a struggle for him.

Stop eating pizza, someone posted on here said that he eats alot of junk-food in-between fights. If that is true, no wonder why he balloons up so much.

If this is his last fight at MW, I'm fucking livid with Bob Arum, fucking livid.

At MW he had a reasonable (I say reasonable) shot at beating Sturm and Pavlik, those 3 guys are the only meaningful match ups at MW.

This is a crying shame for boxing, even if Arthur does fight at MW again he's clearly now very unhealthy there.

Smart decision. I'm thinking he will eventually be at light-heavyweight too. Pavlik is going to be pissed at Arum for letting this fight slip away. At SMW Abraham beats Froch and Bute.
