Chuvalo is Ali's third biggest win. But everyone who complains that Chagaev had no lateral movement should watch George "Static Target" Chuvalo.

Chuvalo has a decent record with 45-13. If we check his performance against non-bums however (= those who win 75% of their fights) then his record is 7wins-12losses (merely 3 KOwins in 20 fights). Therefore his good record consists mainly of beating bummy opponents. By his terrible performance against better heavies we can assume that there was something terribly wrong with Chuvalo. I suspect it was his non-existing defense and being stiff as a pole. Foreman annihilated him in 3.

Chuvalo would be a proof nowadays of how the division sucks.

Wait 30 or 40 years?

It's only 5 years after the day of retirement. The Hall of Fame was started in 1990, Ali was one of the first inductees. Nobody from Wladimir Klitschko's current resume will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

3rd biggest win?

There's about 8 wins ahead of his 2 over Chuvalo (73-18 64 ko's btw).

Wlad outweighs his average opponent by 15-20 pounds and the ones he doesn't are because they are grossly overweight for a professional fighter (i.e. Rahman, Austin). Klitschko got knocked out in his prime by Brewster and Sanders while outweighing both by 17 and 17 1/2 pounds respectively.

You're comparing a fighter whose 3 opponents closest (yet o so far) to the Hall of Fame are an old, fat, and flabby Hasim Rahman that quit against James Toney the fight before, a fat light heavyweight he still outweighed by more than 24 pounds in both fights, and a Hepatitis ridden Chagaev who's best win was about as convincing a win as 44 year old Holyfield over Valuev.

Keep in mind, other than waiting 6 months for Haye in 2009, Wlad fights 3-4 times a year.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Boxing's OK here. Mismatches galore. There are no real up & comers anymore. We have a situation of oldies fighting oldies. They don't fill stadia anymore. One kudo though...Brian Mitchell made it to the Hall of Fame!
I haven't attended a live match for eons. I rather watch world titles on satellite feed. I get up at 3am due to the time difference and at times, it's really worth it.

There's no real 'hunger' with the fighters nowadays. It seems that if they win a few they expect a title fight....and invariably get one, in one of the many affiliations! It's a bit of a joke really.
