So you're entire reasoning that Wlad fights better competition is purely statistical...? It is based on NOTHING but records and numbers... not the actual fighters.

You leave no justification that these fighters may have losses BECAUSE the competition was thicker back then?

Instead of these fighters that pad their records up to 40-0, and who have they fought? But they're 40-0 right?

Add that they are 40-0 against guys weighing 230+. Weight is all that matters according to this guy.

We have to wait another 30-40 years to say that. Ali became a HOF only 1990. Lennox just a few days ago.

Chuvalo is Ali's third biggest win. But everyone who complains that Chagaev had no lateral movement should watch George "Static Target" Chuvalo.

Chuvalo has a decent record with 45-13. If we check his performance against non-bums however (= those who win 75% of their fights) then his record is 7wins-12losses (merely 3 KOwins in 20 fights). Therefore his good record consists mainly of beating bummy opponents. By his terrible performance against better heavies we can assume that there was something terribly wrong with Chuvalo. I suspect it was his non-existing defense and being stiff as a pole. Foreman annihilated him in 3.

Chuvalo would be a proof nowadays of how the division sucks.

Of course he can. And you are free to add that fight to his cruiser record.

Fighting a sub-200 DEFINITELY DOES NOT ADD to his heavyweight record in my book.

You know exactly what would happen if Wlad would line up 20 guys who weigh 170-190+.
          1. He would KO all of them
          2. And everyone would complain how it sucks

How many of todays heavies have bulked up using steroids compared to eras before 1980?

It was not thicker back then. That's just a myth perpetuated by haters and good-old-time-nostalgists.

Just the fact alone that a guy with Parkinson (Ali) fights a chinny featherfisty 6-0 bum (Spinks) for the heavyweight world title shows you the real state of the HW division in the 70ies.

This is OBVIOUSLY and OBJECTIVELY so much worse than nowadays division that I don't need to elaborate.

I have yet to make up my mind what is actually worse: That a 6-0 bum WINS against a champ with Parkinson, or that the champ with Parkinson wins against the bum in the rematch.

Stop fooling yourself about the great state of the 70ies. It was merely a hyped up local US contest.

Besides the US boxers like Evan Fields and Shannon Briggs?
