This year has been one of the poorest years for boxing.

I know HBO and SHO have tightened up its budget but this year has been awful. The economy sucks and all but seriously look at the fights we have received. We rarely have seen major boxing events(hbo/sho cards)back to back weeks and often boxing has only happened once every 3 to 4 weeks. With Summer looming we have only top two decently big cards with Diaz V Paulie and Bradley V Campbell, that is a problem. I know we have seen better fights because HBO/SHO have scrapped little fights/tuneups or whatever to pay the best to fight the best but f it, I'd rather have quantity over quality if we have to suffer through these long dry spells. Add this all up with the injuries and HBO being stubborn(you know they wont get a replacement for any fighter) we get another let down this week. This year has been depressing and I think the networks made a mistake deciding to just have the very best fighting the very best.

I agree with the TS. To this point, this year has been pretty disappointing.

How so? You get to see Victor Ortiz Saturday and then what? Zero meaningful fights in July and maybe 2 nights in August. We already went through this in January where we had only one fight and during March or April(I cant remember) where there was zero fights. Roll that up with the dud fights and injuries I bet we have had only 5-6 big time fights.

Its been a decent year. Cotto-Clottey was a nice event. Marquez-Diaz was exciting.
Mosley-Margarito and Williams-Wright were one sided. Mosley-Margarito was exciting tho.

                Dawson-Tarver 2=waste of time

I can only speak on HBO. Don't have Showtime. There just haven't been any superfights this year as of yet

Within 6 days of one an other, we saw Miguel Cotto vs Joshua Clottey in front of 19,000 (a fight of the year candidate) and Jean Pascal vs Adrian Diaconu in front of 13,000. Your comment is just ******!

                    Because boxing revolves around HBO/SHO.

                    Amirite?
