A VERY GOOD way to see if Schaefers is telling the truth about Strong Ticket sales is to see if:

    A) The fight is actually rescheduled
-If fight is not rescheduled that is pretty much admitting that fight wasn't selling and they have to find a more attractive matchup.

    B) When the fight is rescheduled what are the Ticket Prices.

    - If the Ticket prices go down then that means that he is lying.

However if it is rescheduled and the same price point then Schaefer is probably telling the truth.

Notice NO MAJOR MEDIA OUTLETS (except Boxingscene) took Schaefer's bait about the Mayweather-Marquez ticket sales!! Go Google Pacquiao-Hatton ticket sales...you'll see articles by LA Times, Las Vegas Sun, etc. reporting about the massive demand for Pacquiao-Hatton as early as February/March 2009!! Where are these articles for Mayweather-Marquez??

Schaefer and Arum are the SAME!! They SPIN!! But Arum DID NOT have to spin the ticket sales of Pacquiao-Hatton because it was a SELL OUT...during a recession!!

no matter hjow bad ypu want floyd to fail it wont happen. the marquez fight will outsell hatton vs pac and do better ppv numbers.

there is a reason why we never sdw offical ppv figures from arum on his fights because they don't sell well to the general public

anybody who thinks floyd vs marquez sold 300 tiks is a

None of us have any concrete evidence that Floyd and Schaeffer are either telling the truth or telling lies.

I don't know how much of Floyd's popularity has dwindled since he retired. But, it just seems that Floyd never really had a strong fan base, sure, people took notice of him because he's an amazing athlete. But he didn't seem to have the kind of supporters that PAC has, even here in the States.

I can't see how Floyd - JMM is gonna sell more than PAC - Flattened. PAC has a huge backing from the Filipino community here in the States and Flattened was the same way/and he has thousands of people flying over the Atlantic just to watch him fight. Neither Floyd or JMM have that kind of fan support, so, even though I think Floyd-JMM PPV will do fine, I just don't see it topping PAC-Flattened.

And another thing I'd like to point out. I was in Vegas for the 5/02/09 fight. Everyone in the media and on this site kept talking about Flattened's throng of supporters flying in from the UK. But, one thing that I observed in Vegas, was PAC's surge in popularity.

Everyone kept talkin' about how many more Brits were actually at the fight compared to Filipinos. Yes, this was true, . But no one mentioned how many non-Filipinos were also at the fight rooting for Manny. That was one thing that surprise the hell out of me.

Back then, it was like 99% Filipinos that would show up for PAC fights. For the Flattened fight, the small(if you call it that) Filipino presence at the venue was made up for new PAC fans.

So if someone were to ask me, were there more Brits at the MGM compared to Pinoys, I'd say, the place was overrun by Brits. But if you asked me, if there were more Flattened fans than PAC fans at the MGM, I'd say it was near d&mn even numbers. That tells y'all that PAC's popularity has gone beyond the Filipino community.
i'd say it is safe to say tha manny gained more fans TODAY than floyd ever had.
it is not surprising because of the disparity in fyting style these two boxers present.
floyd is technically superior than manny but his style is "boring to fans".
            manny's style is.....oh well...u know it

Ticket pricing is a good point!! But even if they don't change, it doesn't automatically mean he was telling the truth. First off, promoters are very careful about EVERY WORD when talking to the media. So they always have to talk facts or opinion. But THE TRUTH is always a whole different story. These guys know how to SPIN!!

                pac-jmm 2 was ages ago.....
pac TODAY is a lot more better, popular and gained more fans worldwide.
on the other hand, floyd is.....it's up to u!
compare floyd and manny of TODAY,... never mind yesterday!

I agree there is no concrete evidence that Floyd is faking his injury. But there are overwhelming facts and circumstances that CREATE DOUBT about the "injury". Just look at the official press statements...they're clouded with doubt! why no doctor's statement...only statements from Schaefer (Marquez's official promoter) claiming the injury. Whereas, Floyd's statements actually NEVER CLAIM an injury...just expressing disappointment about the postponement! Press statements written by the promoters and their lawyers are always VERY SHORT and very METICULOUS about each word! All media spinners PREY ON OUR ASSUMPTIONS!! Part of their job is to find LOOPHOLES!!

boxing is about "what have you done for me lately"

Floyd was in hiding while the "real" welterweights were beating each other up

Manny was beating the **** outta his "last three" that made him the sports/ mainstream media darling.
