I ahve said it many times, Bernard Hopkins ruins fighters, and their careers.

I would have green k you but i have to spread it before giving it to you again.

I don't think he ruined Taylor though, Taylor was winning on the scorecards against Froch. It was a matter of stamina, not Hopkins.

Yeah he certianly ruined Taylor throwing like 7 punches a round, how could anybody endure that punishment.

This thread is a joke, Hopkins is talented no doubt but he fought in a weak ass era. Echols, Holmes, give me a ****ing break.

Put him in there from 87-92 with G-Man, Jackson, Toney, Jones, Eubanks, Watson, Benn, Nunn Etc and lets see how many he'd "ruin"

I don't think you can claim Calzaghe to be honest.

You say controversial but the majority would give it to Calzaghe.

About Calzaghe getting hurt badly again, it wasn't badly, bit of an exaggeration.

I have respect for what Hopkins has done, not a fan because I don't like his style or watching his fights.

The only criticism I seem to hear regarding Hopkins is that he picked on smaller guys.

When the **** was Calzaghe hurten badly?

Too much bias in this thread, even though I think you are right on some points. The excecutioner is a dangerous opponent. But you can't say anything about Pavlik yet, and I don't think you can say Hopkins ruined Taylor, clearly it was Pavlik.

And by the way, the rumours about Pavlik entering rehab is pretty much plain bull****.

                    All of that is bull****.

Just because one of his biggest wins came against a guy moving up in weight (Tito). By those standards then Hagler's wins over Duran and Hearns mean ****. And anybody else's who had to fight a guy moving up in weight.

Tito wrecked Joppy, a damn good career Middleweight in his own right with a record of 32-1-1 against guys at 160. A guy Hopkins himself couldn't finish off despite his best efforts.

Wright was completely blown up. No doubt about that one.

De La Hoya was moving up, challenging him. I don't see how that's Hopkins fault for taking that big payday against a superstar like Oscar. Anybody else would've done the same.

                    Tarver was bigger than Hopkins.

And Pavlik was exactly the same size at the catchweight of 170 (just 4lbs north of 166 where Kelly beat Jermain in the rematch).
