If he takes a Welter belt, I say sure get the hell out of Dodge.

But Manny will not retire, he aint no Mayweather.

How about to get his name out there facing the most popular fighter at the time? Pacquiao is a fighter who can weigh in at all these different weights generally because his speed is what makes the difference but his actual body frame is not welterweight. If Pac met Floyd at 143 or Marquez at 140lbs, that's it, call it a career. Why have to face Mosley or Cotto all a sudden when they are really meaningless to his career at this point?
You can insert Floyd's name everywhere that you said Pacquiao, but its funny Floyd's fans have been saying this about Floyd for years only to be met with he's a coward and any other type name, even Pac fans criticized him, funny when the shoe is on the other foot it all of a sudden becomes the right thing to say.

How about he deserves some money finally after giving us great fights in the lighter weights? Get that $$$ and retire at this point. The best way to get the money and add to legacy is without a doubt against Floyd or Marquez.
Nate Campbell is the best fighter in his weightclass. And screw the general public we dont need them. The general public didnt know who rafa and Vazquez were, does that mean we shouldnt make meaningful fights anymore?

Pacquiao already has all the money he'll ever need. He should fight the tough guys in his division to carve out his legacy. Not take hand picked fights to make the most money.

I'd like to see Pac/JMM3 too, but Arum doesnt seem to keen on making that happen.

Haha, you obviously don't know the politics that go on behind it all. Of course it's all about the general public at this point and the money. And sure, I'd love Pac-Marquez 3 also but the part where Marquez is on GoldenBoy Promotions side, that's going to make negotiations a lil harder.

I know what the politics are, I just disagree with them. They get in the way of good matchmaking. If Pacman is going to start acting like Mayweather then he should retire.

I don't really think you meant that. Just like all the other sports pros in every other discipline, the main thing that gets these so called athletes going is the prospect of making tons of money so that they and theirs could enjoy life to the fullest. And the only way they could accomplish that is by having a following which is by definition, the "general public". Now if you tell the general public to go screw themselves and give them "spectacles" that they don't care for, where is the loot going to come from? How many kids do you think are going to aspire to be great boxers and put in the time day in and day out if they are going to make the same amount of money as your average construction worker? As with most things in life, everything starts out to be all about the money.

The general public will come when real fights are made. The general public can see through Floyd/Oscar type fights now. They want the real fights. Thats why UFC is so successful. They dont care if a guy loses because they make more money forcing the best guys to fight each other.

So you do care about the general public then if you are looking forward to having them come see when the "real fights" are made. I was under the impression that you didn't care because you just said "screw the general public we don't need them " in your previous post. So which one is it?

Screw El Pacman's version of the general public which is a euphemism for filipinos that dont wanna see Packy lose fights. The "real" general public doesn't coddle their fighters so that they can get even richer, they just wanna see a good scrap and competitive matchmaking.
