I answered your question. He brought up the "general public" and I was responding to his version of it.
Its not a generalization. Its common knowledge that his filipino fans only want him to take fights for big money against lesser challengers. They say 'he's earned it".Comment

is this not the same **** that floyd gets **** for? fighting the money fights instead of fighting the best fighters of your divisionI must of missed the good fights at 140lbs. Are these opponents the general public have heard of? That will make 10+million a fight? I think that 1 opponent has been wiped in 2 rounds. The only thing left that makes sense is Mayweather or Marquez to finish the business. Why face @140lbs a bunch of nobodies for no reason?Comment

Cmon, Jay you're a decent poster. Don't stoop to this level. You make it sound like this is an exact science by claiming that what you know about Pac's filipino fans is common knowledge. It might be common knowledge to a handful of people like you but if you visit the Pinoy Lounge once in while and understand tagalog, you would find out that these so called Pac fans that you are alluding to only want the toughest possible fights for him.Comment

Listen, I like Floyd myself, not a fan but I respect him as a fighter. However, I don't think this is the same scenario. Floyd was perceived to be taking the money fights to stay away from the tougher fights. You can't really make the same argument that the best fighters of the 140 lb division are better than the likes of Cotto, Shane or even Mayweather who are considered to be next possible opponents for Pacquiao.Comment

delahoya was arguablly better than margarito and cotto at the time him and floyd fought, margarito was a nobody like the fighters at 140 and cotto was making a name for himself, at the time he did not beat anyone really worth mentioning until he beat zab where as hatton had beat an atg in tzsyu a couple years prior to that and as far as shane goes he was fighting at 154 and when asked about floyd he said he had a tooth acheListen, I like Floyd myself, not a fan but I respect him as a fighter. If you ask me, I want him to go after the Welterweights @ 147 lbs. Nothing less. Pac's status is already sealed in the HOF as one of the best ever just because of his ability to win at all the different divisions he fought at. If he is actually good enough to beat a couple of these top welterweights in their own division, the next generation of boxing fans will still be talking about him long after we are all gone.
