Pacquiao/Cotto Negotiations in Full Force, Deal Expected

Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank hopes to have signed contracts from Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto by the end of the week. Arum is trying to match his two fighters for November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Even before Cotto won a decision over Joshua Clottey last Saturday, Arum met with Cotto to discuss a Pacquiao encounter. [details]

Can't wait to see the purse, weight and venue details.

My guess would be Pac 60/40, 145 lbs, and MGM.

Well...i'm disappointed that we wont be seeing a Mayweather vs. Pacman mega match anytime soon. However, this matchup should be entertaining....that is if Cotto doesn't come in weight drained.

Although i'm a huge fan of both fighters, i'm not the slightest bit interested in this matchup. One fighter is going to have to sacrifice to the point where it's not going to be a fair matchup. Either Cotto is going to have to cut too much weight, or Pac is going to be fighting at a weight where Cotto will be too big and strong for him.

This matchup is a result of Arum's greed. Cotto should be rematching Shane, while Pac takes on Floyd. Winners of those 2 bouts should face eachother.

I think you are right with everything you said but the weight might be lower...who knows only time will tell.

This fight will generate a lot of enthusiasm all over the world. I am predicting that if the fight happens it will break PPV record. Very interesting fight between two gentlemen fighting for bragging rights as the real p4p champion.

yes. we all know 2-3 lbs. make a difference.

                  cotto is the greatest.

                  best in the sport.

if he drops 2-3 lbs. , the only way pacquiao wins is by cheating at the scales.

we all know cotto is greater than pac. if pac wins , it must be because of the 2-3 lbs.

                    I'm guessing 50:50, 144 lbs and MSG.
