Why doesn't Daniel Santos need to defend his world title?

Foreman has an eliminator to fight against K9 Bundrage. So Santos isn't due to fight anybody right now just yet

I don't get it, if Yuri is #1 in Santos' division and Mayorga is 2, why is he fighting an eliminator in another division, seems he should be forcing his title shot with Santos. Although I think Forman is garbage and boring, he'd probably have a better shot V Spinks than Santos (who is a bad man).

Because he had a fight against a mandatory challanger agains a Japanese guy, and the fight got cancelled, then He had his fight with Kirkland and Kirkland got arrested. So in all fairness to him is not his faul.

Since he is high risk low reward people wont fight!!!!!!!!

All the champs at 154 are high risk low reward, except Spinks which is probably why Forman is trying to become his mandatory instead of Santos'.

Lots of people want to fight Santos. He's ducking others, they're not ducking him. Paul Williams is available right now, but I bet Santos will avoid PWill.

You're right that Santos was never scheduled or talking about fighting Kirkland or anybody else. And if he doesn't make a fight soon he should be stripped. I've seen fighters stripped for less than that by the WBA. This division has potential to be exciting with Santos, Dzinziruk, and Kirkland if he beats the rap. Add Paul Williams in the mix and there could be some interesting fights. I also see Miguel Cotto moving to this division in 2010.

I see Yuri Foreman is in an IBF eliminator with Cornelius Bundrage, so he'll likely be fighting Corey Spinks after that.

The WBA is getting worse, they seem too lazy to even declare title eliminators anymore.

Why declare an eliminator when we have fighters like John Ruiz who are permanently in the #1 contender position?

The WBA is obviously the worst sanctioning body, by far. It's not even close.

It takes two to tango, Why blame santos when the people at the number one ranking all seem quiet/silent??? If i see someone calling him out now i can reason with the ducking accusation but no-one has called him out not even Williams...not even spinks who seem more keen on fighting Vernon forrest(Injured fighter).

Am pretty sure HBO or Showtime would entertain a fight between Santos and the like of Williams and spinks but it takes the other party to show interest.
