Why doesn't Daniel Santos need to defend his world title?

It will soon be one year (on July 11) since Daniel Santos KOed Alcine and won the WBA world title at light middleweight.

He's not been injured, as far as I know...why hasn't he taken at least a voluntary defense?

And why has the WBA not declared some fighter to be his mandatory?

Pwill needs to go after him. 154 is his ideal division. That'd be a very good fight.

WBA will probably just name him superduper grandmaster champion or something.

excellent question tunney, and good answer brendan. Santos gets away with this **** all the time, he fights so rarely. I think yuri Forman is the 1 contender and that looks like an easy stay busy fight for him. This division has a lot of potential, with a lot of good boxers with belts.

Foreman has an eliminator to fight against K9 Bundrage. So Santos isn't due to fight anybody right now just yet

He should fight Pwill. That fight would be awesome.

                    Yes the division has potential.

I see Yuri Foreman is in an IBF eliminator with Cornelius Bundrage, so he'll likely be fighting Corey Spinks after that.

The WBA is getting worse, they seem too lazy to even declare title eliminators anymore.
