So you're saying Hopkins got bitchslapped to a split decision by a bum? What does that make Hopkins?

He lost on his own turf to a Euro bum... that's a diss on Hopkins, isn't it?

Joe Calzaghe strikes me as a guy who doesn't even care about his resume. It's like he doesn't want to strive for greatness. That's what separates guys like Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, and Bernard Hopkins from him. They don't use age as an excuse to retire when they know there's more to accomplish. They actually did some things in the prime of their career that mattered on top of it.

Did you ever wonder if all fighters are aiming for the same goal? There's a possibility that Calzaghe is happy with his achievements. Maybe he achieved more than he ever thought he would, and simply becoming a champion just once was all he set out as a life's ambition?

Personally, I think it's not only unrealistic but also very unfair to expect every fighter to become the next Ali or Robinson. The kind of people who do this are the kind who would walk away and **** on a fighter when he loses. Some people expect too much.

Unrealistic?C'mon dude, you're supposed to strive for greatness.Otherwise you're just cheating yourself, and the fans. The kind of fighters who walk away when there are many great challenges to choose from are the ones who should've never laced them up in the first place. Why make the long hard journey to the top of the mountain just to give up before reaching the summit? Not that I think Joe could ever reach it,but you HAVE to TRY!

he had some nice amateur achievements but why didn't he ever turn pro?
