yeah, if he went on regular HBO right from the gate he wouldn't be in this situation, but that could still hurt his bargaining power at the negotiation table depending on the ticket sales and tv ratings.

Hey now, it would've been Floyd fighting on reg HBO. He hasn't done that since Sharmba 5 fights ago. Who else on the schedule gets a bigger rating? The highest ratings of the year for WCB would've been automatic for Jr. And ticket sales would've done better than these rumors (not saying there would've been a sell out), because there wouldn't have been anywhere near the same stigma attached to this the PPV incarnation has.

Mayweather's greed (which has been wrongly directed at HBO) coupled with his unwillingness to challenge himself, has royally pissed people off almost to the point of no return. The hate he's getting on here is at its absolute peak. And I thought it was bad when he was being harrassed on the boards daily for avoiding Cotto and Margarito.
