Like it or not he was the top guy in the UFC for quite a while and he has fought the best in MMA. To get taken out like that by a 48 year old is just embarassing to MMA.

Tim Sylvia was never a top fighter for that long and when he was a top fighter in the UFC, the heavyweight division ****** ass and all the HW talent was in Pride.

I watch MMA but to be honest there are very few talented fighters. most are grunts with huge hearts and lil skill. yea I give credit to guys like Anderson Silva but when it comes to boxing elites in comparison to MMA elites the MMA elites dont hold a candle to boxing elites.

He was but not for nearly that long and was never considered the best.

I'm giving Mercer his props. He won the fight, good for him.

But this still doesn't prove very much. If he was dumb enough to stand with Mercer he deserved to be knocked out. It was an MMA bout.

He was even more dumb to even want to box with the guy in the first place, not heeding Jen's advice.
