last year if you talked to cotto fans about a catchweight fight at 140 , they would say cotto would kill him.

now pac beats oscar and ricky and they start talking about it better be at 147 or else pacquiao is cheating.

apparently it's fair for pac to go up 7 lbs. but not fair for cotto to go down 3 while pac goes up 4......
Yeah its fair for Pac to go up 7lbs.. He did it against Delahoya so why not Cotto? Obviously he's cherry picking at this point. It's way more of an advatage for Pac if cotto has to move down to 144 because he'll probably be drained and its more dangerous for a fighter to move down to an unnatural weight then for a fighter to move up. Pac fought Delahoya at 147 so he should fight Cotto at 147 too.

cotto is a cherry pick for no one! at whatever weight.

delahoya went down a division for pacquiao.

cotto is too good to meet pacquiao?

even delahoya met pacquiao a 1/3 of the way.

I'm not saying Cotto is too good to meet Pac but I don't think its to his advantage to drop that weight, I think its a HUGE advantage to Pac not to Cotto.. Pac already showed he can fight at 147 so why not fight Cotto at 147?

I don't know what to say about all those bastard catchweight fights. It's clear that Cotto will have to deydrate some more which might make him less effective. Still I think he'd be a formidable force and if Manny wins it'll be a great win for him.

For Cotto to shed an extra 1-2 pounds shouldn't change his routine much at all, just towards the end before the weight in he'll probably have to sweat it out a little longer than he normally would when making 147. Not too different when pacquiao had to eat two breakfasts before the ricky hatton fight just so that he could weigh 138.
Cotto is a good fighter and deserves to be praised, but I don't like how his fans keep making blatent excuses for him. Manny Pacquiao is a little bit bigger than JMM and it a natural superfeatherweight. Cotto should drop the 3 pounds, or manny can fight JMM in a rubbermatch that most boxing fans care for more.

Rehydrating doesn't always mean a guys healthy. If a guy rehydates too much it's a sign that his body's not right.

So it's not like if Cotto rehydrates to 158-160 than that definitely mean he's fine.

I just don't know what making 147 is like for Cotto. Cotto was killing himself to make 140 well before he left 140, so that doesn't really mean anything.

I just hope the fight happens and there's no controversy. Whoever wins beat the best version of the other person.
