It was the 116-111 and 115-112 scores that bothered me, I was fine w/ Cotto winning
Same here. 116-111 was off; to suggest that Clottey needed a knockout going into the 11th round is insane.

      My card:
      01) Cotty 10-8 (Cotto, 10-8)
      02) Clottey 10-9 (Cotto 19-18)
      03) Cotto 10-9* (Cotto, 29-27)
      04) Cotto 10-9 (Cotto, 39-36)
      05) Clottey 10-9 (Cotto, 48-46)
      06) Cotto 10-9 (Cotto, 58-55)
      07) Clottey 10-9 (Cotto, 67-65)
      08) Clottey 10-9 (Cotto, 76-75)
      09) Clottey 10-9 (Even, 85-85)
      10) Clottey 10-9* (Clottey 95-94)
      11) Cotto 10-9 (Even, 104-104)
      12) Cotto 10-9 (Cotto, 114-113)

The two rounds I have bolded and asterisk'd are ones I noted as being swing rounds, and ultimately determining the fight. Score the 3rd for Clottey, and he wins by a point on my card. Score the 10th for Cotto, and he wins by 3 on my card.

In the end, I thought the right call was made and that it ultimately came down to who took the last round.

I was rooting for Clottey to win,but I scored da fight 4 Cotto

I had it 114-113 Cotto due to the Kd in da 1st round. Sort of Like JMM-Pacquiao 2.Anywayz I felt that @ timez Clotteys inactivity/the time he had hiz chance to do damage but didnt cost him the W over Miguel Cotto.Major Propz to Miguel for fighting on with that big azz gash

It was a victory for Cotto, regartdless. I don't pay much attention to scorecards anymore because the sport lives and dies on opinion. Whitaker-Chavez is obviously a win for Pea regardless of what the cards say. In that same vein, I don't care if Clottey may have edged it on points on the cards of some. He lost IMO. He lost when he entered the championship rounds with an opportunity to win convincgly, fighting a Boricua in MSG before the night before the parade, and did nothing. Nothing. No way you take the man's belt like that. Especially when he has one eye.

I had it as a close fight. My main issue is how to score the first round. 10-8 for Cotto just doesn't seem right to me. IMO Clottey was clearly winning that round. A stiff jab knocked him down but certainly didn't hurt him. I scored that round a draw. I could see it going 10-9 to Cotto but definately not 10-8.

so you would scored the round a 10-9 and not give credit for the knock down?? so what are the knock downs for??

In a 10 point must system you have to score the round a 2 point round for the KD. Clottey knew it and was clearly pissed at himself for hitting the canvas. Clottey was NOT dominating the action so that he would hav had a 10-8 round sfor himself even if the KD hadn't occured. That round has to be 10-8 Cotto anyway you slice it. You can make for an arguement that some of the more competitive rounds could be 10-10 rounds but in a 10 point must system a competitive rounds has to be scored 10-9 if we all thought like you there would be alot more draws and swing rounds making more scores from judges leaving you shaking your head oh ish WTF did he see the same fight I was watching.....Lefty

It's not a MUST that you score a round 10-8 just because one guy gets knocked down.

The first round was close...Both men doing work with the jab...Cotto landed a good left hook while against the ropes...Clottey landed a couple more shots.

He definitely was not dominating the first round.

                      10-8 Cotto.

to give clottey the 10-9...He would have to be dominating Cotto thoroughly and that wasn't the case.
