I have a feeling that this fight is a gift to Cotto from Arum because of the problem that they have when Bob Arum take the side of Margarito when it was discovered he uses the iligal wraps. The relationshipn beetwen the two before this has been distant, and here in Puerto Rico has been rumors that Miguel has said that he doesnt want to continue with top rank. I guess that this is a gift from Bob Arum to Cotto to convince him to stay with Top Rank giving Cotto a fight that he can clearily can win versus the p4p king and therefore help the standing of cotto for a fight with pbf.

Also he doesnt loose with Manny because a loss with Cotto can put Manny in a third fight with Marquez. In this way he retains both fighters and have and option to put two fights that people really wants to see.

i think this is a ploy by arum to make boyfloyd sweat.
he has no real intentions of putting pac up against cotto.
but to go for easier gold against an "only in it for the money floyd".
with floyd showing desperation by cancelling on jmm and positioning
      himself for something bigger.

the latest fad. fake an injury to reposition.
is that what khan is doing?

It's incredible! Have people forgotten that the PacMan is yet to fight a Welter! Don't even try it with Oscar.... either Clottey or Cotto would have KO oscar within six. Is a matter of fact, Oscar would have never taken that fight!

I'm not going to join others are elevate a fighter by steping all over an other. Manny has done great things and in my opinon is the top P4P. But to say that he will KO Cotto it's ridiculous. Cotto has fought the best in the Welters (P Williams in a full blown 154-60) and has only lost to Margacheato. This weekend Clottey just blew it.... he had a mentally fragile fighter (post effect of Margacheato), a fighter with a new corner (His trainer is an unproven unknown second hand) and an imparied fighter from round 3 onward (the gash was nasty and you have to be an ignorant hater to say that it did not affected his gameplan) and yet Clottey, will all this advantages could not close the show.

Pacman KO the Mad Hatter beautifully (I watch the fight at least once a week - just for laughs), but by no means this is the prove that we need that he will do the same to Cotto.

I'm certain that everyone saw a bloody and retreating Cotto thus the wolves are circling, but don't sleep on that... the other side of the story is that Cotto snatched victory from a stronger, two eye, defensive genious with good movement, timed punches and skills.

that left hand hurt pac, and thats why im not going all crazy over him fighting cotto, whats ****** about this fight is that it does nothing for cotto if he wins, and he doesnt look very good losing to a lightweight moving up to welter. this fight is about money and nothing else. Also, it will be easy for everyone to say that pac fought cotto while mayweather didint, but pac has easy access to him due to the fact that they have the same promoter and its an in house fight. Im not to crazy about this at all.

Of course they had to make Cotto leap through a hoop or the fight wouldn't get made. The fight night weights are more important, though.

            Not surpised.

There's a simple answer that needs no further explanation. Catch weights did not start with Mayweather.

            You're probably right.

Arum likely did three back flips and a tummy roll when he heard the news of Floyd's injury. Not that they wanted Floyd anyway.

I believe Arum knows Cotto is on the decline. So as long as he has Manny in his stable, he can still cash in for the biggest payday against Mayweather.

Arum is making intelligent business moves. Gotta give him that.

I'm happy that Junito will get his mega-fight.

Right on man. He showed some vulnerability there, probably just enough for them to think he is beatable. I just hope he does not go below 145. He can handle 145 fine.

Anyone that thinks Cotto is easy pickins is in for a rude awakening. Manny is talented as hell, but fighting Cotto will be like fighting a monster in there.

I have noticed some real arrogance coming from Manny's camp and some of his fans on here as of late. I'm a big fan of Manny, but it is getting tougher to be one.

I said the same thing. Manny deserves to be called the P4P best but Cotto is going to be tremendously underated. Cotto has fought the BEST welterweights, you heard me the best. If he hasn't, it's because they ducked him. The experiences in all of those wars will be evident in a fight with Pacquiao.

You must have gotten your Master's Degree boxing college because you're dead on brother. I agree with you entirely. Cotto is going to come in the underdog expected to be a punching bag for Pacquiao. But because Cotto has fought all of the BEST welters in the world, he will benefit from that in this fight. Just got off the phone with my boy and we both agree that Cotto is going to surprise everyone and knock Manny out.

If Pac is fighting Cotto, and the talk is to fight Mayweather next year, then call off the fight with JMM, and make it May vs MOSLEY ! IN SEPTEMBER !
