if I recall correctly... it was MP the one acting like a lil ***** in his corner the last time he got cut - and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as Cotto's cut. And the Pacmaniacs were acting like MP's eyeball was hanging out LOL... If MP wants Cotto's WELTERWEIGHT crown - then play by the same rules that every other fighter has to. MP should have an asterisk (*) by every win he needs a handicap in order to win. And to the people who say MP started at 106, IMO does not mean much as he didn't do much in the lower weights but get KTFO - probably do to weight drainage because he was obviously TOO BIG for those lower weight classes

How the hell can that guy claim Pacquiao hits harder than Clottey ?????? This is ****ing bull****. Pacman may be a hard pucnher at 122, 126, 130, but **** no, he isn't punching as hard as Joshua Clottey. DLH, even though he took a vicious beating, said Pacman didn't hit hard. I think some of us are forgetting that Cotto did not have a real trainer for the Clottey fight. However, he did show a slight improvement in his defense and still showed discipline in the fight. Now imagine if Cotto had a REAL trainer who can can REALLY help him improve his skills, offensively and defensively.

That should be his next step if he wants to fight quicker fighters like Pacquiao and Mayweather, who will pick him off because of his vulnerability. Get a real trainer. If he does, and Cotto humbles himself to take that trainer's instructions, and still keeps in mind the skills that he already possesses, I don't see anyone beating him.

For us Filipinos this was no secret: Pacquiao DRAINED himself for the 2nd Marquez fight. Hours before weigh in he was wearing THREE LAYERS of SWEATERS to get him to perspire enough to make 130. This was well documented in our mass-media. After that fight they vowed never to fight at 130 again, that is why he went up to 135, 147, 140.

At 140 Pacquiao will smoke Marquez, especially with Pacquiao's current skill level and the fact that 140 is Pacquiao's natural weight now. The Pacquiao today is infinitely better than the drained Pacquiao who faced Marquez in Jan 2008 (and he WON that fight).

As for the looming Cotto fight, all I can say is: it will be a great night for boxing with two gutsy fighters giving it their all. The Pacquiao - Gayweather fight cannot compare to this one. Pacquiao - Gayweather will resemble Pacquiao-Marquez: Pacquiao doing all the chasing and the opponent doing all the running. Oh all right yes they would hit back once in a while, but hardly exciting.
