Mayorga always got by on toughness. He may be a better fighter than David Diaz but Diaz is far from being the punching bag you make him seem. Dude is a far better BOXER than Mayorga can dream of being. Dude has had an extensive amateur career and owns a win over Zab Judah in the amateurs. In every David Diaz fight aside from Pacquiao Diaz had had a higher connect rate than any of his other opponents including Kendall holt up to the point he got knocked out. You cant just throw out the words win "barely" when it's convenient. A Cotto win over Mosley was close and could have gone either way but you dont see Mosley crying robbery over it. He knew he was beaten.

Pacquiao's last 4 opponents are Marquez, Diaz, DLH, and Hatton. Marquez is ranked #2 p4p and arguably #1 p4p. There were boycotts of the DLH fight because it was supposed to be a circus and Manny just cashing in to get knocked out. It wasnt until afterwards that excuses came. WIth Hatton tens of thousands of people were predicting Hatton to outmuscle, outwork, and body shot Pacquiao to death. It wasnt until AFTER he destroyed him that he became a club fighter and mediocre.

Cotto's last 4 opponents: Joshua Clottey, Michael Jennings, Antonio Margarito, Alfonso Gomez

Mosley's last 4 opponents: Antonio Margarito, Ricardo Mayorga, Miguel Cotto, Luis Collazo.

From the looks of it Cotto's actually had the least threatening competition overall between the 3.

I don't care to be honest. That **** don't matter to me because the victory was some weak sauce. Does anyone think Cotto is going down in the history books as a greater fighter than Shane Mosley. I sure don't. And Cotto didn't even beat the past prime version as convincingly as Vernon Forrest did. Mosley holds the crushing victory over Margarito as well as Cotto's old WBA strap. And Cotto holds Paul Williams' WBO strap by default.

Cotto is only 28 Mosley is about 10 years his senior. When Mosley was Cottos age he didnt have the resume Cotto did. Shane is in the twilight of his career where Cotto still has more to accomplish, so if you wanna act like a psychic be guest because your post fails to prove a point. Mosley fought a clean Margarito wheras Cotto fought a cheating Margarito. Im a huge Shane fan but Cotto may surpass him, if he keeps doing what he gotta do.

Like I said, Floyd needs Pac in his resume to cement his stature. Pac-JMM in its own right is going to be one of the greatest rivalries in boxing and PBF wants a piece of that action. If he beats JMM and a fight with Manny does not materialize, at least he'll be the man who beat the man who gave Manny Pacquiao the hardest time of his career.

Speaking of bull**** resume, with the exception of their common opponents in Oscar and Ricky, Floyd's recent fights include washed up and overrated Zab Judah (who knocked PBF down), paper champ Carlos Baldomir (Pacquiao's Diaz), and over the hill Mitchell and Gatti (2nd fight with MAB).

Don't talk about bull**** resume, it can bite you in the ass.

ask any unbiased boxing historian or scribe, they will all tell you that pac's resume is much better than that of floyd.
very simple,...4 HOF fighters in pac's win column.

it takes 2 to make a catchweight fight, one to offer the catchweight and one to accept the catchweight.

if cotto don't like it, he can walk away and wash his hands of it all. but if cotto signs the contract, he has to accept some of the blame on his own shoulders.

arum was the one pushing for this fight from the jump. like I said, if cotto doesn't like the catchweight he doesn't have to sign the contract. if he signs, then he has some liability for making the catchweight fight as well.

roach said straight up that pac at 147 lbs was a one time deal and it was only for DLH money. also, pac officially weighed 142 lbs for a 147 lbs fight. not only that but pac officially weighed 138 lbs just a few months ago. pac has no business at 147 lbs and to level the playing field certain conditions must be asserted.
