Calderon-Mayol Rematch is Already Being Looked At

Filipino challenger Rodel Mayol, taking his third crack at a world title was once again denied, this time by a questionable technical draw at New York ’s famed Madison Square Garden on Sunday morning, Manila Time, in a fight telecast “live” by Solar Sports. [details]

What we saw today was an overly eager and excited Mayol, who lost his tempo during the fight. The outcome would have been very different if Mayol just kept his usual composure and patience. Mayol can beat Calderon. No doubt about it.

as far as im concern, calderon is the clear winner. what i can't undertsand is why the judges go to the scorecards when the ref stopped the fight because of the cut. if a boxer can't continue the fight because of a cut the boxer simply lost by technical decision.

i don't know how it became a draw.

it would be calderon on points or mayol by technical knockout!

either way it is acceptable but to declare it a draw is something fishy.

Mayol calling Calderon's fighting style "amateur" was a bit harsh.

              Meh, it wasn't exactly a barn-burner.

I'd little Calderon has a point, why do all these fighters who are 4 inches taller than him keep stooping that low.

                Execuse your ignorance!
You need to be oriented with the Boxing Rules!
If a cut is open accidentally by a Headbut and is the cause of the stoppage!
And if the stoppage occured before the end of round 4, the fight will be called No Contest! While if the fight is stop after round 4, the fight will go to the scorecards of the judges!!!

Nevertheless, I think Mayol won clear enough!
Calderon actually surrendered, he showed sign of unwillingness to continue the to the referee...

He has the option to continue just like Miguel Cotto did...

Comparing the cuts, Cotto has worst cut than Calderon...
