I think you're quite accurate of his assessment as a top euro/fringe world, He's also one of my favourite fighters fighting today, probably my number 6. That said, he's not going ANYWHERE near the elites if he doesn't get his bloody defence sorted out. He's as bad as froch at best, but doesn't have froch's raw power (weightclass aside). Not to mention, I think that at this stage in his career, his not being able to make weight is probably indicative of his needing to move into LWW, which is pretty much a stacked class at the moment. His focus needs work too. Now, his in-between fight lifestyle isn't quite as abysmal as Ricky's, but he doesn't do everything that he should be doing in his down time. His promotion is poor too, though that's not his fault. He could do great things if he gets the chance to change his promotional/training regime. A lot of potential in the lad, I just hope it doesn't end up being squandered like so many promising fighters we've had as of late. Good post(s).I think he is a top fella. Never heard him speak really at length before, and the fact that he was so crushed by not making weight and offered no excuses and called himself: 'unprofessional' really speaks volumes for his character and desire, I hope he does well.
Not making weight may be a bit of a shot in the arm for his career too.
I think he is currently european, and fringe world-class. But lightweight is stacked. Murray might be better than I give him credit for, and I think he is very good, I just don't know if he could go on to be an elite lightweight.Last edited by Silkstone; 06-13-2009, 07:27 PM.Comment
